Got several pieces I need to make for the Janney Furnace Museum. 2 display stands & 2 art pieces. Need to get off the arse & get at it.

And we’re back. Long day on the road. Got some stuff taken care of but will have to be out and about again Friday to finish things up.

Heading to Calcis today instead of tomorrow. Got a call and am working at Valley Antiques again tomorrow. Will be back when we get back. :-)

Gonna put in a section of our jewelry and weaving. At least one section of shelving for necklaces and bracelets and another area for belts.

Made a bit but worked for every penny. Sold a lot of little stuff. Going back tomorrow to redo part of the booth.

Long day at the yard sale/working at the store. Got there about 6:30 am and left about 5:45 pm. Came home, unloaded, & went to wally world.

Just gonna set banana boxes of stuff out for the customers to paw through.

Started hauling stuff out to the truck for the yard sale at Valley Antiques Saturday. We’re working tomorrow so guess we’ll set up then.

Making Antler Buttons http://t.co/4xzawlbe

Took the pictures of the hand vices as well as of grinding, polishing, edging, and drilling the holes in the buttons. Now to do a post.

Guess they are actually called hand vices. Will get some pictures of them here in a bit.

Finished screwing the foam to the inside of the camper roof/ceiling. Cut several antler buttons. Made 2 different pin vices to hold them.

Just finished a late lunch and am fighting the urge to call it a day and crawl back into bed.

Took the walk. Made it to the top of the hill and then had to hurry back down as someone called to say they were on the way over.

Part of me wants to go for a walk. Another part wants to go back to bed.

Copper Wire Key http://t.co/egMzbasb

Need to move the bench grinder out there too. Hand grinder is nice but with a few dozen to do, I think ac is gonna win over hand/arm power.

Kinda stinks when cutting it up, drilling it, and grinding it so wanted to do it away from the house.

Moved the jig saw from the back stoop to the 10×20. Need to saw up some horn to make buttons and necklace bits out of.

Which should work with the south wall of the mobile home as it’s between 10′ and 12′ high. That will let me use the roof to store stuff on.

Have to have enough fall for good runoff and with a outside wall a minimum of 15′, the inner wall (20′ away) will need to be 17′ minimum.

Think it’s getting close to time to clear out the inbox on gmail. Went over 9k unread this past week. :-O

Took pix of the new stuff I have done but am not up to resizing & uploading it tonight. Gonna call it an early night, so till the morrow…

Think I can build the building, for $0 out of pocket, using bits and pieces of stuff lying around. And yes, there IS a LOT of stuff here.

Think I must be getting better. I have managed to get 2 necklaces done, and started planning a temporary 12′x20′ work building, all today.

More new pieces http://t.co/UWxrdLup

Put the beads in place & anchored the wires in the side holes. Was a lot of work but I rather like it. ;-) http://t.co/XEoigwE7

Filed down a small brass rod to make the rivets, cut them off & peened them into place, holding the nose on and the eye bead wire in place.

Drilled the holes to attach the wires to hold the eye beads. Decided to add a nose of brass. Cut it out and drilled the rivet holes.

It’s the same tool that I used to make the lines on the other pieces. Cleaned all the edges up with a file.

The outline of the owl was cut with a pair of tin snips. I used a chisel, made from a broken 1/8 inch drill bit, to cut out the eyes.

Cleaned the edges up with a file and finished off with steel wool after rubbing a bit of green paint into the indentions and lines.

Beat this one out with a bigger hammer. Cut the outline, then textured the areas inside the lines with a punch made from an old dental tool.

And on to the brass peace sign. Another old video game token. http://t.co/THH8WfeA

Finished it off with 0000 steel wool.

Hammered the surface with my smallest ball peen hammer to give it the texture. Used a file to clean up the cut edges.

Drilled 5 small holes and then inserted the jewellers saw blade into the ones in the areas to be cut out and did the deed. 4 times.

Peace sign cut from a piece of 3/8 copper pipe. Same general process as with the brass other than the cut outs. http://t.co/vncRK1MR

A bit of red paint rubbed into the chiselled lines, then the entire piece was cleaned off and shined with 0000 steel wool.

Heated to red, quenched in water, pickled in battery acid, cut to shaped hammered to texture, lines chiselled into the brass.

Gonna have to build a different unit to hold the leather lacing(s) and necklace cord(s). Assortment has grown so that it needs a custom box.

Got the truck unloaded and most stuff put in somewhat correct places till next event. My jewelry and leather workstation is back up.

Today I ended up with more necklaces than when we got there. Will get some pictures of the new pieces after unpacking and sorting.

I’ll keep doing it that way though because I end up with 10 or so new pieces by the end of the day.

I demonstrated making various types of jewelry and copper arrowheads for necklaces but there was no real interest.

An event needs to have demonstrations and a theme and/or other events to get the people into the area to ALSO shop with the vendors.

Wish there had been a larger turnout. Crowd was WAY off this year. Problem was that except the bands there’s no draw except the vendors.

Twas a day. Have had better, and worse. Actually have travelled much farther and made much less so don’t see I can complain about it.

Hitting the sack for an early one in the morning. Gonna try to be at the Square in Jacksonville by 6:30 to start setting up. Till later…

Got to do it today as we’re gonna have to work at Valley tomorrow. Then setup at the early on Saturday at The Living Museum on the Square.

Trying to figure out how to get all the display stuff we had in the 10×20 in a 10×10 popup. Have to cut some stuff, just gotta decide what.

Gonna try doing some wood (bamboo) burning of patterns on some of them as soon as I have time to slow down from producing and play a bit.

Been making bamboo beads tonight. Got 20+ finished and another 15 or so to do. Heating over open flame and wiping hot surface takes longest.

And yes, it WAS a slow day.

Made 6 necklaces and one pair of ear rings while working at Valley Antiques today.

6 new necklaces created. And way to late for me to be up. Will get pix tomorrow. Night all…

For now gonna take a few to unwind and look at some of our goodies.

Got painting to get done and jewelry to make for the Living Museum on the Square in Jacksonville a week from today.

Fixed and ate supper and took a sitdown at the computer. Still got to unpack the stuff we got. Looks to be a busy next few days.

Left out from there after 7 and made another stop at Food Land in Alexandria for supper fixings. Then on home.

Next stop was at Hobby Lobby in Gadsden, where we got beads, leather, and ran into a friend with whom we talked for a bit.

Clothes still smell like burning sage. Wandered around till a bit after 5 and headed home. Made a stop at a Wally world for needed things.

Decided to go forth to the powwow in Guntersville, which we also did. Met many new folks, and got much good stuff for more jewelry.

120 miles later we’re back home. With goodies. Went to get paint in Glencoe, which we did. Along with tint for many gallons more.

More booth pictures from Janney Furnace http://t.co/RMkUibHZ

I think they are going to end up with the old post office poster and notice board too. Need to do some repairs to it first though.

Got the display case delivered to the Janney Furnace museum. With the other 2 cases I took out there it helps fill the new display room.

Wish I had some in exterior green. May have to break down and buy some.

Will not be buying any more. Got an old can of Sherwin Williams interior and painted the inside of the Vardo and it covers SO much better!

Got the bottom side of one of the knockdown display tables painted. 2 coats and it’s still streaky. The Krylon green we got sucketh greatly.
