PBS | I, Cringely . June 9, 2005 – Going for Broke
Apple’s Decision to Use Intel Processors Is Nothing Less Than an Attempt to Dethrone Microsoft. Really.

Me thinks Cringely has something here. Not sure what but something. The Intel/Apple merger makes sense in a kind of twisted way. And Jobs has shown in the past that he has large brass, or possibly cast iron, balls. So… Guess we wait and see what the near future brings.

Very interesting article, from someone who knows many of the principals (Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, don’t know about the Intel guys) from WAY back, personally. And Jobs would LOVE to mop the floor with Gates, and selling Apple to do it would be a VERY minor thing–remember, he just dodged a MAJOR cancer bullet, one that killed Jeff Raskin. That has to have even Steve Jobs thinking of what kind of mark he can/will leave when he goes, and killing/limiting Microsoft would leave him smiling in his grave until Judgement Day, and then some. And Apple and Intel teaming up to drive technological innovation excites everything, with the possible exception of my bank account……
