		<description>Absolutely!  Wales and Scotland as well as England used the basic design as did quite a few American indian tribes.

This one is being built using the rod or stick method.  I got a stick 6 feet long and have used that to make the 12 foot and 6 foot measurements.  That's about all the measurement I plan to do other than stepping off the rafters and uprights.  Everything else will be fitted by hand.

I am looking at several different roofing systems.  The only problem I have with thatch is the flamability.  This one, I suspect, will have a straw/hay insulating layer with plastic on top then 4 to 6 inches of dirt then carpet that I will plant grass in.  Figure the carpet will hold the dirt in place till the grass can put roots in.  Time will tell... ;-)</description>
