One upright peeled and the tenon cut in. May be all that I do tonight. Depends on how I feel after eating.

Ridge pole peeled and both mortises are cut. Now to cool off a bit and start on the uprights.

After this one have 5 more poles to peel. 2 for uprights and 3 for the front canopy. Doubt I’ll get them all done today. ;-)

Reversed it in the clamp (nail in big log, rope around nail under & then over pole, cement block hanging from rope) to do the other end.

Lotta sweat equity going into this tent… Had to take another break. Got a little over half of the ridge pole peeled.

Think I have cooled off enough now. Going back at it.

Canvas at the top of the tent will be between 11 and 12 feet. Still not sure how I’m gonna work it if we set up on asphalt or concrete.

May cut some off of the ridge pole but for now am thinking the extra length will work for external guy ropes. Will have to see how it works.

Got one of the mortises drilled and chiseled out. Had to come in and take a break. Haven’t sweated like this in a while.

Started peeling the ridge pole. Starting length is about 16 feet, of which 12 will be under canvas. The 2 uprights are 8 feet long.

Got off of my arse and went shopping for wood in the cedar thicket. Think I got enough for the basic tent frame and front poles. Cost=sweat.

Got nothing much done yesterday. Wanting to do nothing but go back to bed today and may do so soon.
