Sounds neat! Be sure and post the pics when you can.

Had a Monday, not too bad of one. Got some stuff done, and may have figured out something we don’t want to do. Going to have to talk to some people first, but I’m not sure if it will be worth the trouble. We’ll see, and I’ll explain later. Some things just may not be worth doing, no matter how geeky they are…

Just kinda hanging in there right now, going to search for a website now, methinks…

Stayed home yesterday other than a trip to Wally World to pick up some needed things. Got ready for the wife and daughter to return from Honduras, which they did ~9:45. Picked up some supper, came home, ate, and went to bed–the girls showered first, to the cries of “Hot water!”

Got up this morning and went to church, then came back here. Taking it easy today, which is fine with me.

Stayed around the house except for a breakfast trip and a trip to West Point to pick up something to make for supper. I’m about to hang out some clothes, get some coffee, and head into town for some things before I start cleaning up around here. The girls come home today, so I have to get it in better shape. It’s not that bad, really, but Saturday is cleanup day anyway.

The dude has a way with tools, doesn’t he? And if he doesn’t have it, he makes it. Or if it’s big (like a dozer) he rents it. A LOT of work went into all those castings–I’m sure you’ve followed the progression he went through. Very interesting. There is just something, well, BASIC about melting/casting metal. As Tim the Toolman would say: “Argh, Argh, Argh, Argh!!”

Had a Friday kind of Thursday, and having a Saturday kind of Friday. Holidays…

Did another end-of-year rollover yesterday, and then did some installing of software in a couple of labs at the high school. Got done about 7:00, hit Taco Hell for me and the son and went home. Got a good bit of stuff done, and don’t have to go in today or tomorrow to finish it up. As Yoda would say: “Much rejoicing there was!” Watched the flashes in the distance of the fireworks show from the front porch, and then saw the greatly increased traffic from same. I just didn’t have the intestinal (or lumbar) fortitude to go watch. It wasn’t too bad on the porch, either temperature or bug wise, for this time of year. Had three motorcycles go by that when we heard them (the son and I) we both at first wondered if a helicopter was coming down the road. It was three V-twin motorcycles, I guess the exhaust notes blended just right to make the “Huey” sound. Kinda funky, though–it really sounded like a Bell Jetranger was about to come around the curve at about 5 feet altitude and head on down the road. THAT would’ve been a sight….

The son and I went to Shoney’s in Gadsden for breakfast this morning. Came back here and started some laundry, and going to do a couple of chores and then see if my back is up to redoing some computers. Got to open some cases and move some components around, and install some OSes. Going to be careful with moving the cases. Very careful. Back is getting better, but still an issue. Don’t want to make it more of one.

Heard via the daughter’s boyfriend via his Facebook account that the wife and daughter are back in civilization in Honduras, and will be back tomorrow evening. Everything is going well. Good to finally hear something. Not many communications options in Honduras. The Internet helps.

Went to work Wednesday, and got some stuff done. What chair you sit in can make a big difference in how your back feels….in the afternoon, we had another episode in that continuing miniseries: “How may ways can a network NOT work!” Getting closer, but it seems to be one step forward, eight to the side, half-step back, and then pause for breath.

Going to try and get a bunch of stuff done today, so I can stay home tomorrow. I’ll have to get going, and hope things go well. I’m about due for something going well….

Interesting. I liked the greywater link too. I am thinking very heavily about doing something with the washer water, and maybe some other greywater sources at the house. It would be a win/win situation–free water for the plants, and it would keep the water out of the septic system. Going to have to do some thinking…..

Had a stay-at-home day. And didn’t get a THING done but a load of laundry. Hurt my back Monday evening, and even though we had the guys coming yesterday to pick up the junk, I stayed home. ‘Twas a wise decision, methinks, because all it would have taken was one half-way good lift of something, and I think I would have wound up in bed for a while. Doing better now, but it will be a few days until I am back to normal–or what passes for normal for me. It’s somewhat sore right now, but I just got up, and I expect it to be sore and “catchy” when I first get up–overnight stiffness, I guess. It got rather better yesterday afternoon with just minor moving around, and it is MUCH better than it was yesterday morning. Plenty I can do without lifting much at all, so I’m definitely going in. Need to talk with my boss about the rest of the summer, and have some software to install, which isn’t exactly heaving lifting, so I’m golden. Or at least better…

Wasn’t a bad day yesterday, until I put a monitor that I was moving down wrong, or something, and my back went out. Sitting at home now, about to remote in and do some stuff because I sure can’t go in and do anything. The good news is it’s better than it was last night. I’ll try a few things in a little bit and see if it helps. The folks are coming today to get the junk–wish I could be there, but even getting in the car and driving up there might not be that good an idea right now. I think this is one of those times when I’ll just have to back off and let nature do her thing. I hope she isn’t too slow….
