First day of downtime in a while. Head is wanting to do things but the hands and arms aren’t up to it. :-(

Going outside to see how things faired during the storms. Then may make it an early night as they’re predicting more bad weather overnight.

By , May 18, 2013 11:54 pm

Was supposed to have tomorrow off but the folks we had swapped with ended up sick so am working both tomorrow and next Sunday too. :-(

By , May 18, 2013 11:52 pm

Long day at Valley Antiques. Sold little. Storms kept most folks away I think. Working for the next 2 days.

Wet morning. Dug more ditches prior to coming in to work at Valley Antiques. Wet outside here but so far no leaks inside.

One upright peeled and the tenon cut in. May be all that I do tonight. Depends on how I feel after eating.

By , May 17, 2013 11:50 pm

Ridge pole peeled and both mortises are cut. Now to cool off a bit and start on the uprights.

By , May 17, 2013 10:27 pm

After this one have 5 more poles to peel. 2 for uprights and 3 for the front canopy. Doubt I’ll get them all done today. ;-)

By , May 17, 2013 9:59 pm

Reversed it in the clamp (nail in big log, rope around nail under & then over pole, cement block hanging from rope) to do the other end.

By , May 17, 2013 9:57 pm

Lotta sweat equity going into this tent… Had to take another break. Got a little over half of the ridge pole peeled.

By , May 17, 2013 9:55 pm

Think I have cooled off enough now. Going back at it.

By , May 17, 2013 9:32 pm

Canvas at the top of the tent will be between 11 and 12 feet. Still not sure how I’m gonna work it if we set up on asphalt or concrete.
