Techdirt: MPAA: The Grateful Dead’s Success Was An Abomination Against Nature
Witness this bizarre exchange between John Perry Barlow and the MPAA’s Dan Glickman debating the future of the entertainment industry. Barlow notes that he made an awful lot of money as a songwriter for the Grateful Dead, which encouraged its fans to make tapes of its shows for free. Glickman immediately responds by saying: “It is ridiculous to believe that you can give product away for free and be more successful. I mean it defies the laws of nature.”

He (Glickman) sounds like a complete idiot. You’d think that folks that make public statements would at least stop and think before opening their mouth. But then we live in the Bush years too… 🙁

Another place I would like to visit. Just for the train ride if nothing else.
I thought that The Blue Train was an invention of Dame Agatha Christie but looks like it isn’t. Glad to see it’s still with us though this is another of those things that I will never experience. Talk about sticker shock! 😉

Mainly a link for me. Still in the market for a new wireless access point (or 3) and this makes Linksys look a LOT better.
Montel Williams Testifying To Legalize Medical Marijuana… | The Huffington Post
Glad to hear/read this one.
This I have already seen. The past several years the poison ivy has been getting more prolific with larger leaves. And it’s starting to affect me which it hasn’t done before. Just another of the wonders of the non existant global warming… 🙁
