The Power of God
Last night I had a crazy dream. In it, President Bush publicly bitchslapped Phillip Cooney and other administration officials who had been lying about the dangers of global warming. The President cited the same dozen “doctored, distorted or suppressed†reports to which Robert Kennedy Jr. has referred in the Huffington Post and elsewhere. In my dream, Mr. Bush explained that he had been talking to God and then, weeping like Jimmy Swaggart caught with a whore, he said that God had reminded him that lying was a sin, and that He would not longer tolerate it in his administration.
If you are into woodworking this is a must visit!
They try to be all suave but the title of “Untitled Document” at the top of all the pages just screws the attempt up. But Joel does some nice work. I just wish the website “designer” allowed more and better pix, design, and construction info of the pieces. The gallery page is well worth a visit for some examples of one off (I think. again just not enough info on this site!) pieces that the artist has done.
Radial sawmilling works with the nature of the tree producing timber sections that have consistent growth ring orientation and less residual stress.
Interesting concept. Goes along with what I have been reading about in working with green wood and riving it out of log rounds.
This is interesting. Not sure if it’s the future or not but it’s a step in the right direction toward no moving part control systems.

Apple’s Decision to Use Intel Processors Is Nothing Less Than an Attempt to Dethrone Microsoft. Really.
Me thinks Cringely has something here. Not sure what but something. The Intel/Apple merger makes sense in a kind of twisted way. And Jobs has shown in the past that he has large brass, or possibly cast iron, balls. So… Guess we wait and see what the near future brings.

MoCo Loco: Stitch Kit
Stitched chairs and lamps.
“Functional objects in three dimensions using sewing techniques” from Nel, a group of independent designers based in Mexico City. Starting with a 2D graphical representation of a chair, or lamp, a functional 3D object is built using sewing techniques.
This is some interesting stuff though I think they need to redesign for comfort a bit more on the arms. The website at http://www.nel.com.mx/ sucks. Seems to be one page with flash showing the products. If there is more there I didn’t find it. No pricing or product info. There is contact info.
