morning after feeling

been over 5 years now since i have had a drink and i still have mornings that feel like i had tied one on the night before. coated tongue and all. suspect it was the off insect repellent i used yesterday that caused it this morning. whatever it was i feel like hell this morning.

don't know what the day will bring. got a bunch of stuff i need to do but haven't figured out what the direction will be yet. one may figure it will be a bunch of nothing. and one may be right. it may end up being a couch and book day. then again may not.

just got a call from the herb shop about the pine tar soap being in. guess i get to try it now. most of the rash is gone but still have patches that are active and itching. the pears soap took care of most of it. or it and the cumarindine did. with a bit of hydrocortozone help. and vitamin e oil applied directly to all spots. so it may have been one of the above or more than likely a combo of all or some of them. who knows. just glad i am not itching (much) any more.

sun going down. fire burning down a bit also. almost time to get the steak out here and start cooking…

and now nearly midnight. steak cooked and mostly eaten. almost burned it. had a bit of a grease fire when i went to get a plate to put it on. should have taken it out first. know now though.

another sunday

another sunday.

another day. a day in a long list of days. nothing special. not about this one. or about any of them. some cost more to get through than others. some are cooler. some hotter. more or less comfortable. more mosquitoes by the day. i have got to start an eradication project. start at the front of the property and work back, clearing and removing all sources of standing water. would take forever. or the rest of my life anyway.

i have been writing a bit but not correctly or regularly. still trying to find the bloging nervonia. and too lazy or inept to do more than moan about it. try this and try that. should take the time to learn to use the programing equipment built into osx. the learning part is the problem. not sure it will stick. things aren't lately.

drifting through the days
bit of a summer haze
sketters and flies do bite
stiring anger at the spot

and this too dies. before it goes where it started. maybe someday. then probably not.

fire going to grill some steak on a bit later. just added more wood. probably shouldn't have but wanted it cooked over oak rather than the sycamore that was burning now. will be ashes in a couple of hours and ready to cook on then or a bit before. will try to get a picture of this contraption soon.

got to quit with the sweets. gaining too much weight. more meat gonna mean getting a half a pig or cow. got the room to put it i guess if we clean the freezers out. which they both need to be anyway.

a building is a must. buy or build. either will work. or both.

now that the truck is running i need to go to talledega and get the trailer and other stuff. first of the week is looking better for that.

problem with sleep on os10.3.3

every time it hard freezes it's after waking from a sleep. sometimes will be happen as soon as i wake it. other times i can do something and then go to do something else and it freezes. wonder if it depends on which application is in front when the freeze happens? i usually leave it on and just close the lid. but since the security update it has been freezing most times when i open it. so i have started to use the sleep from the menu and it happens less often. but still 1 in 4 times of putting it to sleep i loose the gamble. not good odds. and certainly not what i spent 1500 bucks to have happen. will try to note which app is frontmost when it happens from now on.

what i want in blog software.

blosxom like control over my own files. save in a folder. to make a new topic add a new folder.

but i want the posting as easy as tis with livejournal and Xjournal on mac.

guess i can use blapp and figure out the ssh login automatically problem. i don't understand the key thingies. and don't know i want to have to study several different programs to figure out how to connect automatically when with all the other programs i just use my user name and password and it does the deed.

guess apple script may allow me to do it. again will see.

just checked and there was an update to Xjournal, so downloaded, then closed it out, replaced and relaunched it. of all the things i like about the mac, the one I like the most is installing and removing programs. download, move to proper folder, usually applications, and start using. wonderful!

there is a new save option on post which is good. was irritating to be asked every time. so far so good with the update. will see in when i post.

betha is on the road again. or somewhat anyway. engine is still missing on one cylinder but running pretty good otherwise. took it over to my folks this morning to get my father to listen to it. he leans toward a stuck or bent valve. stuck is his primary feeling/thought. may be what bent the pushrod in the first place. good chance anyway. going to try his suggestion on measuring the valve ends to see if one is lower than another. then oil and hammer time.

too hot to do anything right now. guess i could start cleaning and organizing things inside. just not up to anything right now.
