Raw materials and the sawsall to harvest the rubber strips.
The harvest.
The rubber strip, screw driver and screws to install it.
Bamboo laid out to see how it will look.
Using the rubber strip from the sidewalls to attach the bamboo rafters.
Different view.
Limbs that I cut off the bamboo rafters. Fixing to get used to weave into them to give support to the vines and a bit of shade till the leaves fall off.
Some of the pieces woven into place.
Different angle.
View from outside.
Staghorn getting a bit too much sunlight. Perking up after watering and the rain earlier today though.
Finished with the vines layered on top.
The tops of the bamboo that were too small for rafters are hung or leaned against the end to block the afternoon and early evening sun. Will do something else after the leaves fall off.
Ponytail getting some sun.
Other side (barn side of creek) with the vine in place also.
Another angle of the lake side arbor.
A view from above of the top with vine curled around.
Lake side with bamboo tops in place as sun shades. Keeping the staghorn dark enough.
Working on the tire retaining wall. Am going to build a rock wall under the bridge and around and up the side where the road cuts through so there will be rock under the bottom most row of tires where all the mud is now.
Cutting the sidewalls out to facilitate filling with dirt. Also makes for more room for planting in.
And a bit later with a few more in place. Bottom row is done and second one may be. One tire in place for the third row. Looks like 3 more will finish it off.
The three in the bottom row already have horse radish planted in them.
