WordPress βΊ WP Super Cache Β« WordPress Plugins
Just installed the WP Super Cache plugin to see if my problem is related to WordPress hitting the processor too hard. Going to install it on all of our other sites so looks like a afternoon doing updates and backups.
Been trying to get it going all day but haven’t gotten near as much done as I needed to.
The server errors are getting to the point I am gonna move the sites soon. Have looked at several possible hosts and almost settled on 2. There is a fair cost difference between the two and will most likely go with the cheaper but still trying to make up my mind. Tis gonna be a lot of data to move and hate to do it but things are not getting any better so am gonna have to do something.
Spent far too much time today setting up a LAMP server on this machine here at home and then putting wordpress on it to check it all out. After I got the first copy working made a backup of the database for technoprimitive.org, copied the wp folder over and imported the backup. After some playing around with phpMyAdmin got it working on here. Now just got to backup another 7 or 8 other wp sites as well as several other database intensive sites and make sure I can get them all working after the move. Joy, joy, joy… π
Not gonna do it tonight though. Done all I’m gonna do other than hit the publish button on here and then go to bed. Till tomorrow… π
Spent the day trying to recover from the weekend. Still not up to much but better than when I got up this a.m., so am gaining on it anyway. Hope to be back at it tomorrow. Will see when it rolls around. Till then… π
Twas the “insert” key and it does it’s deed only in Puppy linux when ScribeFire is running. So back to PCLOS for now. Puppy is fast and overall an excellent distro for older and even newer equipment. Tis somewhat limited in applications but everything I needed I was able to find or find a workaround for. And I suspect that the insert key bit killing firefox when using scribefire is fixable, but I just don’t have the mental energy right now to work through it.

Jim Reed, on The Museum of Fond Memories….
My museum of fond memories is filled with triggers and unexpected alarmsβ¦.
When you walk down the long hallway of Reed Books Antiques/The Museum of Fond Memories, you’ll be surprised every step of the way. Passing by the front counter, for instance, a motion-sensitive black box plays the opening music theme to the Twilight Zone. Pressing a button on a small white square brings audience applause. Buttons on a seemingly innocent flashlight produce eerie screams and howls. A potted sunflower suddenly bursts into “You Are My Sunshine” and smiles at you. A mounted fish sings “Well, I’d Like to Know Where You Got the Notion,” ultra violet lights make things glow unexpectedly, and an enormous record changer plays stacks of recordings of square dances, children’s tunes, belly dances, Mister Rogers songs, Wagner operas. You may have gotten the idea by now that my shop is dedicated to the obtuse, the fun, the unusual…and you’d be right.
Interesting place, and person. Both are well worth the visit. π

Just did it again. Not sure if it is just in Puppy Linux yet. I hit either “insert” or “print screen” and am not gonna try it again quite yet. Going to try to get a lot of the tabs that I have been meaning to post cleared out and then will try some experiments. Tried it in Seamonkey where I don’t have ScribeFire installed and it doesn’t do anything. Will post more as I find out. Tis quite a pisser when it happens.

The Bookman is a bookshelf in the shape of a man and is a highly decorative piece of furniture as well as a sculpture.
Interesting piece of work. I like!
No real biggie just long and tiring.
With the storms and rain Saturday night leaks developed or redeveloped as it were. Had one in the Q-hut roof/side that only leaks when the rain is blowing in certain random directions and it was pouring in all the right directions so we had nearly an inch of standing water in the front corner by the time I noticed it. Got the towels out and started soaking it up/damming it up to hold till the morrow. Rain slowed down so we went to bed around 1:00 am. By 1:30 got worse and then much worse so I got back up to go and check the front leak. Down the stairs and into water. The wet weather spring that has been dry for the past two years decided to become active again. So I pulled the carpet up and removed to boards and such to get to the hole in the ground where I could bail and started to do so. And bailed, and bailed. Cat got up and went in front and started wringing out towels and adding more. Rain started tapering off around 3 and she got to bed. I finally got done with bailing around 4 and back to bed and around daylight to sleep.
Up and out of here about 10:30 am and headed to Calcis, by way of Logan Martin dam where we ate lunch while watching the birds eat theirs. After eating we drove on into Calcis and to Cat’s mother’s house and after they visited a while we headed back here. Picked up my mothers stuff and went to visit there for a bit. Back here a bit after 6 pm and after changing out the towels drying the carpet again ate supper. Read a bit, and wrote a post which I then managed to kill the browser and wipe it out and hit the sack about 9 pm.
Still beat today. Just got back in from a visit with a friend who came by to get some old equipment that was wasting away in the barn. Which took quite a bit of water the other night too as the floor is still soaking wet. Am gonna eat lunch and then take a siesta and hope it help the bod catch up a bit on the missed sleep. Till later… π
