Have some that are rated at a ton and a half. Should increase the load handling considerably while still making it easy to maneuver..

Going to change the hinge setup and use 2 instead of the one it has now. Thinking about adding a single pivoting wheel at the back.

Already got some of it in the firebox burning. Like the new hauler for the tractor. Makes it real easy to get way further up in the woods.

By , December 31, 2012 11:26 pm

Got close to half a cord of wood cut, split, hauled to the tractor, loaded, unloaded, and stacked on the back stoop/porch/work area.

Won’t hold as much but will be a LOT easier to get into the woods.

Got the wheel barrow, chain saw, monster maul and assorted bits and am heading to the woods to see how it hauls firewood.

Drilled a couple of holes & bolted the center hinge to the center of the forklift backing plate. Now have a fold up platform to haul stuff.

Had to go back up and get the trailer drag bar & chain to pull it out. Hooked up and got the lawnmower drive on gate I cut off the trailer.

Cranked tractor, unhooked the trailer, went to get the forklift for the 3 point hitch. So long since I used it privet had grown through it.

Cleaned out the gutters, swept leaves off several roofs, and did some much needed caulking. Still more needs doing but that’s it for today.

By , December 31, 2012 6:08 pm

Head cleared up a bit from the dizzies, so I got up on the roof, sealed off the vents (plastic shopping bags and duct tape).

@technoprimitive LOL! Very true!

Still itching to build a rocket mass heater in here though. Have rethought the layout and looks like I can do it all on the existing pad.

The barrel stove is burning a lot less wood and burning much cleaner than the Ashley did.

By , December 28, 2012 8:18 pm

Added a small log and tis burning nicely again. I feel much better about it as I hadn’t cleaned and inspected it earlier as I should have.

By , December 28, 2012 8:16 pm

Inspected everything with a flashlight and put the bits back together. Opened the door and draft and moved the log back into the firebox.

By , December 28, 2012 8:14 pm

Took the “L” out of the flue outside and cleaned the upper stack, then the inside horizontal stack, and then the section I took out.

By , December 28, 2012 8:13 pm

Flue cleaned. Removed the log and then moved the coals to the side. Cleaned out the ash then closed the door and draft control.

By , December 28, 2012 8:12 pm

Other option – shovel the logs and coals out into a tub and take it outside till I get the flue cleaned. Not much fire left so may do that.

Guess I can clean it with them going but not real crazy about the face full of smoke I get every time I have to do it that way.
