Building everything to break down and flat pack, which is the reason for regrinding the spade bit to drill a tapered hole.

Paint drying now. Guess it’s time to figure out how the necklace displays are going to look and work.

Last 2 done. Found some more blades and put one on. Saws/resaws in a straight line now. Made the last 2 shorter and a bit longer.

Got 3 with paint drying now. Think I have enough dowel to do 2 more. Gonna go make them and then work on a necklace display stand.

Doesn’t rip/resaw right. Think the blade has hit something on one side. Got to get a new blade and see if it works better for that.

Put the old one on it and reset ALL the stops and adjustment points. Hour and a half later cut the first circle. Worked great.

Got it and all the pieces out to the work tent and started to put a new blade on it. 2 new ones were too long.

Decided the quickest and easiest way to cut the base circles was to use the band saw. Which has been sitting in pieces for 2 years or so.

Started to make some bracelet display stands this morning. Found a 1/2″ dowel and reground an old 1/2″ spade bit to cut a tapered hole.

Going to try the 2 parts soybean oil and 1 part turpentine mix for waterproofing the canvas. Looks like the WW veggie oil is soybean oil.

Need a somewhat period tent for vending at reenactments and as we can’t afford the grand or two to buy we’re going to make it instead.

Didn’t stay too long as was quite wet and rain was getting heaver. Went by Big Lots and got some canvas drop clothes to try waterproofing.

Cannons were awesome! With the wet air and misting rain the sound and impact was much better than in dry air. Smoke was held down too.

Hoping the Fiddlers Green Civil War Reenactment isn’t totally washed out. Heading that way to see in a few minutes.

So may have time before dark to work on some of the outside stuff. For now gonna heat some leftovers and call it an early(ish) night.

Now to get to work on things around here. Tomorrow is going to be a work at Valley Antiques day but will hopefully get home before too late.

Back from Calcis. Long day yet again but am through with things in that direction for a while (I hope)…

By , May 3, 2013 12:13 am

Kinda awake this am. Not looking forward to the 3rd trip to Calcis for the week but getting ready for it. Work tomorrow at Valley Antiques.

That will make the 3rd trip to Calcis this week. Got lots of things to do here too but need to get the stuff done down there first.
