more on the sawmill

stopped by the coop this morning on the way to Danny's and got a load binder. Used it on the chain holding the front of the tractor stable on the trailer. made the trip over and back with no problem. Bill drove. I could have but still a bit shakey behind the wheel.

Got there and plowed the garden area. Dry and dusty. Glad I cleaned the air filters this morning. Unhooked the rotovater and installed the boom. After a few tries we got the cab broken loose from the mounting thread all. Put it on the truck bed. Then back for the log carriage got it up the hill and then took it in half and loaded one on the truck and the other on the front of the trailer. Bill had loaded all the small stuff up while I was tilling. Made another 4 trips getting other heavy stuff like the primary drive shaft coming from the engine to the blade drive pulley and the carriage cable drive spool and gear assembly. Also managed to salvage one of the log carriage timbers so I have something to go by anyway. Most of this unit has been repaired and built and rebuilt. I have no idea what or when it started off as. The blade is in good shape other than needing some of the teeth replaced. It has the replaceable teeth and Danny says he has some extra somewhere if he can just find them. Still got to go back over and get belts and some conveyor rollers and the carriage drive cable but we got most all the heavy stuff on the truck.

Was 5 when we got back here so took a shower and loaded up and went to the Cultural Arts Center in Gadsden to see a friend of Cats by the name of Mark Allan Barnette. Got some pix that I will download and hope that some came out. Had the camera resting on the table and just snapping pix without being able to see how they looked. Guess I will find out how that works in the morning.
