A good read, with quite a few well thought out points. I especially liked the following:
“You know, screw them, if it’s a choice between putting everyone in Hollywood out of work - not that this would do that, but if that was in fact the outcome, which the industry says it would be - and if it’s a choice between that and eliminating all freedom of information, due process and privacy rights in electronic communication, then ‘Goodbye Hollywood’, it’s a no-brainer.”
The problem with it is that Hollywood (and it’s masses of lawyers) isn’t going to go quitely and the insane drm and restrictions that they are trying to force into law are screwing us all.
Solution? I haven’t a clue.
To be able to sleep with myself, I license my stuff (writing and photos and such) under Creative Commons, don’t buy new music cd’s due to the RIAA nor new dvd’s due to the MPAA, both because of their stand on drm and the out of control suing of their customers. I also quit buying or using Apple products for their stand on DRM. Linux and OSS software is all I use now.

Totally out of control lawyer, abusing the legal system.
Yea, I know, what else is it there for… ![]()
