On weekend war and yellow jackets…

The August Airsoft game is history with only whelps, cuts, scrapes, bruses, poison ivy, poison oak, mosquito bites, chigger bites, and with me at least the lingering memory of 29 yellow jacket stings to remember it by.

The games had 20 players and went from about 3 pm to around midnight. Players came from Huntsville (7), Birmingham (1), Anniston (5), Ashville (1), Pell City (2) (all in Alabama), and Pennsicola Flordia (4). Broken weapons were the rule of the day! Toasted batteries, stripped gears, blown fuses and leaking gas valves were some of the fun highlights. 🙁

Appletinnes and cigars were enjoyied after setting up camp on Friday evening thanks to Lord Leatherhead.

During the games gallons of water and other liquids were consumed.

Thursday afternoon I decided to bushhog the main camping and playing areas and after getting that done started cutting in the dry lakebed. Was finishing up the last row when the little bastards got me. I suspect that there were quite a few that were killed by the bush hog and that the odor of those were what cause the others to attack with such vigor. They got me on the face, hands, arms, head and back. Hands and face were the worse but as of today (sunday) almost all the swelling and soreness is gone. Total of 29 swellings were counted. Bill counted 12 in one area on my back and under my right arm. Pics of my face are coming as soon as I can get them from Cat.

And now that it is Friday of the following week. I just found this in the saved instead of published bin and will now try once again to hit publish…
