Salt Lake Tribune – Salt Lake sounds off in protest and support
A crowd of thousands cheered Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson for calling President Bush a “dishonest, war-mongering, human-rights violating president” whose time in office would “rank as the worst presidency our nation has ever had to endure.”
The group – including children and elderly and some hailing from throughout Utah – then marched to the federal building Wednesday to deliver a copy of a symbolic indictment against the president and Congress for abuse of power and failure to uphold the U.S. Constitution.

It sounds like Rocky Anderson needs to think about running for President.  He sure has Bush’s number and called him on it!  Give em hell, Rocky!

The Blog | Flavia Colgan: In the Senate, Double Secret Shenanigans | The Huffington Post
In the movie Animal House, in his incessant quest to get rid of the nuisance of the Delta fraternity, the evil Dean Wormer puts them on “Double Secret Probation.” It was a completely made-up term, which just made his desperation even more hilarious. For the past few weeks in the United States Senate, some unnamed Senator (who we now know to be the Republican Senator from Alaska, Ted Stevens) has used something called a “secret hold” to kill some common sense legislation.
It would be as funny as what Dean Wormer did, if it wasn’t an actual Senate procedure, and if the bill wasn’t of such importance.

When a US of A  Senator (Republican from Alaska, Ted Stevens) uses Animal House’s Dean Wormer as a role model and tries to emulate him in the Senate there is a MAJOR problem in this country.  Time to get the asshats out of office at any price!  Too damn bad John is dead…

Way to go!  A court that sided with the kid instead of the school or the government.

Of course this isn’t reported on a US of Censorship site but is from a Austrailian news site.

These look like they would be perfect for use on trails and such for multi day hikes instead of backpacks. Would allow a much heaver load to be carried with less wear and tear to the person.

Search links fixed

I hope they are anyway.  Added the archives/ back into the custom field and now they are showing the page instead of a 404.  If they are still broken please comment to this post.

Search may turn up with broken links

By , August 30, 2006 7:41 pm

When I redid the site today I restructured the archived things according to the way wordpress said to and now stuff is broken when people are doing searches.  If you are here from yahoo or google you may try removing the “archive/” from the link they gave you and it may get you to the right page.   Guess it’s back to the drawing board. Will see what I can do.

Gasoline, diesel, and turbine engines could soon burn cleaner or be more fuel efficient through the application of Plasma Assisted Combustion, a technology originated and developed at Los Alamos National Laboratory, and now poised to enter the marketplace.

Interesting article.

CrunchNotes » Apple Sends a NastyGram

Another reason to move to linux or unix. Idiots…

Update:  I seem to be getting a number of hits from CrunchNotes from this link, so will expand on my short and reply above.
I have used (off and on) Macs since ’87 or so and Apples before that.  Cat (my SO) and I currently own and use two iBook G4s, but after having Apple increase the level of DRM to a most unacceptable point, quit updating the OSs.  They are both still at 10.3.9 and I have no plans to ever update the MacOS. I am waiting for a linux distro that works with the Apple wifi cards at a reasonable distance from the hub. At that point I will wipe the DRM infested MacOS’s off the hd’s and install Linux as the only OS on the machines.

This stupid email to CrunchNotes by Apples lawyers is just one more instance that the company that I used to love is now run by the legal/accounting departments instead of the geeks that used to work and thrive there. So chalk another defection from the Happy Mac Owners club to DRM and idiot lawyers.

And by the way, I noted, in some of the comments on CrunchNotes, that this SAME video the lawyer is bitching about is available on the Apple site, so I’m wondering if the situation at Apple legal is so bad that they have no idea what is going on in the company.  As I said above – Idiots!
