Yes, our fiends at Micro$oft, who are raising hardware requirements to insane levels, blocking the playing of lawfully paid for content, and speaking out of both sides of their mouths better and better everyday! Vista…..isn’t that Spanish or something for “screwed in the ass”?
“I know! We’ll make it in MORE varieties than XP, charge MORE for ALL of them except for the base version, which won’t do SQUAT that XP doesn’t do (except use up more CPU cycles), prohibit third-party drivers so that EVERYONE has to buy SOME new hardware, and force all the hardware companies to switch to it as soon as it comes out! Brillant!” (And No, I did not misspell “Brillant”, go to thedailywtf.com, and you’ll see what I mean..)
Well, actually the hardware folks (Dell, HP, etc.) are probably pretty happy about Vista, with the possible exception of the fact that the service center phone lines will start melting somewhere around two weeks after they start shipping it. Vista needs so much in the way of computing power that the price of an “Entry Level” computer is going back to what it was in the bad old days….more profit for them…..
The cartoon is a winner, though, and too true (as far as M$’s view of the world…)
