Swamp Coolers Portable Evaporative Swamp Cooler

Had no idea they were still making these things. Wonderful for dry areas. You get cooling even here in the south east until we hit those 100% humidity days when every surface is covered with water then they don’t do so well…

Organic farming success

Organic farming success
Organic farming produces same corn and soybean yields as conventional farms, but consumes less energy and no pesticides, study finds

“Organic farming approaches for these crops not only use an average of 30 percent less fossil energy but also conserve more water in the soil, induce less erosion, maintain soil quality and conserve more biological resources than conventional farming does,”

30% less energy is a huge saving when profits on farms today are pennies on the dollar.

Bet this study didn’t come from a government agency. Not a lot of profit in organic supplies. 😉

Glad to see this. It gives some validity to things I have suspected for years. Over 9 billion a year in just transportation costs in England alone. Not to mention the pollution…

MDI – The air car – lifestyle, economy, ecology – Homepage

If this is real (and i wonder?) it’s almost too good to be true. A roughly $11,000 air powered car that will travel at up to 68 mph and has a range of 124 miles on a charge. 2 minutes at a garage air pump or 2 to 3 hours on a 220 v connection.

This is just weird. French though. Which may explain it. 😉

I’m thinking franchise city here. This process should also be able to scale up to road parts. Got a lotta potential with an ever growing supply of raw material.

I wish them luck. The battery situation is still just not there for full sized autos. The hybrid seems to be the best compromise so far.

Now this makes a lot of sense. Also means that those weeds in the yard are doing the same thing. So by not cutting my lawn I am doing a double triple good thing. I’m not using the lawnmower which uses gas and produces pollution but I am encouraging the growth of natural air and soil purifiers to counteract others polluting ways. Yep, that’s the story they all get from now on when they bitch about the tall grass…

CNN.com – Eco-car more efficient than light bulb – Jul 5, 2005

I want to see what kind of motor they are using. Rare earth magnets and Oxygen free copper wiring to start off with at the least.

25 watts to achieve 30 mph. Thats less than a watt a mile per hour…
