Okay, that’s it. I give in. I scream “Uncle!” Now, can someone please make this gazillion dollar ExxonMobil propaganda campaign go away?

AMEN!

Greenhouse gas to be stored under sea

Now here is a really brilliant idea. How much energy is going to be expended by doing the seperation and then pumping it into the oil and gas wells?

And no I haven’t done the math but I suspect that some system of reducing the emissions instead of finding a short term bandaide would be the better way to go. Of course the time to do this was in the 50’s or 60’s…

Exxon Denies Fossil Fuels Cause Global Warming

By , June 15, 2005 5:46 am

Was reading through The Huffington Post RSS feed and saw the headline Exxon Denies Fossil Fuels Cause Global Warming.

Then a few lines down I get to another bit of Big Gov/Big Oil Biz goodness.

Guess where Philip Cooney is going to work?

Yep that’s right folks, he’s going to work for Exxon… Guess they needed a new science writer that is current with the state of lies about Global Warming.

Can’t help but thinking that it would be interesting to know if he has been getting a pay check from Exxon all along, or if Bush’s handlers were paying him to make all that shit up.

Press release or reads like one and the last line gives it away.

Ain’t this just a repackaged/rethought sterno? Course this is made from sugar cane and sterno was made from wood products or at least used gelled wood alcohol if the failing memory holds at all.

Looks interesting where ever the idea came from.

Features Item : Restrooms Go Green

Interesting to say the least. Never stopped to think about the shear amount of trash generated in college bathrooms before. Sounds like they are getting a handle on the problems. I would like to try one of the electric hand dryers that actually work.

Gas prices are no problem with truck that burns wood

Cool!

Downloaded a pdf the other day detailing the construction of a system to do this. Looks interesting. Gonna look into it for a stationary engine to drive a generator and produce hot water for both domestic and heating. Don’t see it as a viable alternative for general car usage. Farm tractors are another story. Figure with as much dead wood as I have to deal with every year I may as well get something out of it.

Wampum: MPG & MBTE for Earth Day

Sad but true:

“Writing for the NYTimes, Jad Mouawad argues that higher energy prices are a hohum, after taking inflation into account, prices would have to reach $80 a barrel to match the record of March 1981, and besides, there is no manufacturing left in the US anyway, so who cares?”

Magnetic heat exchanger will cool down your CPU

Interesting concept. Had an idea about magnetic fluid the other day that I am still thinking on. Not related to heat. Dealing with using the magnetic fluid as a liquid “rotor” in generating electricity. I like the idea of using a magnet to “pump” the coolant.
