Woman forces US record industry to drop file-sharing case | The Register
Another link thanks to Steve. And thanks Steve!
Now these folks that have the cases dropped need to sue the hell out of the RIAA and MPAA (when and if) for public defamation of character and any other little thing the lawyers can think up. Maybe then they (the asshats of the RIAA/MPAA) will think twice about suing their customers for this stupid shit…
Enron Witness Found Dead… | The Huffington Post
A body found in north-east London has been identified as that of a banker who was questioned by the FBI about the Enron fraud case.
Police said they were treating the death in Chingford of Neil Coulbeck, who worked for the Royal Bank of Scotland until 2004, as “unexplained”.

Unexplained my ass. This makes two now. Wonder who is in charge of sanitizing at Enron these days?

Slashdot | The Worst Bill You’ve Never Heard Of
With our big business loving big gov in power this should come as no suprise. Yet again they are trying to force us all to PAY for a license for EACH copy of any copyrighted material that is held on a drive, in a ram casche or anywhere in any form. This needs to be STOPPED NOW! So, go read about it, then call your congress critter and raise hell!

Meanwhile, it’s time to tell Congress that enough is enough. These people are bothered beyond belief when the government invades one of their colleagues’ offices to look for corruption evidence, but supinely lets Bush and his people turn everyone else’s life into a viewing gallery. Congress needs to hear from us, and right now.

Slashdot | Germany Accepts Strict Piracy Law
From the article: ‘Germans risk two years in prison if they illegally download films and music for private use under a new law agreed yesterday. Anybody who downloads films for commercial use could be jailed for up to five years.’ Many politicians defended the new law, amongst them Günther Krings, the Christian Democrat legal affairs spokesman, who claimed: ‘There should be no legal distinction between stealing chewing gum from a shop and performing an illegal download.'”
Makes me wonder how many of the idiots involved in voting for this stupidity have investments in prison housing and or construction and or supplying materials for the many new facilities that will soon be needed.
