Technorati has quit indexing my site again

By , November 1, 2006 10:00 am

Wonder if they are really this bad or just don’t worry about sites with lower ratings like mine?  Been 2 days since they have shown any of my updates and I have even gone to their site and clicked on the ping button to tell their spider to check this site.  Still nada.  So they get yet another not happy post from lil ol me… 🙁

Technorati working – kinda, maybe, somewhat

By , September 15, 2006 10:43 am

But not right.  Showing 4 posts with listings of the word Technorati and there are now 21 if I am counting correctly.  So looks to me like the great and wonderful is not either great or wonderful but buggy and not doing what it is susposed to do.    Maybe once in the top 100K list indexing is better but it should be the same for all.

Cat’s Calcis blog is not listed at all and it is set up just like the others we have that are.   Me thinks that there are lots of bugs in their system as of yet…

Technorati working!

By , September 14, 2006 10:27 pm

Just got this:

Hello David,

Please accept my sincerest apologies for the delay in getting back to you.  We’ve been experiencing a backlog in support and
are working hard to address everyone.  I’ve taken a look at the issue regarding picking up your pings for
www.technoprimitive.org/wordpress“.  After making a small adjustment, I’ve sent our spiders to revisit your page and your
blog has been indexed with your most recent posts.

Everything now appears to be working as it should, but please let us know if you experience any problems in the future.  Do
not hesitate to contact us if you have any other questions.  We apologize for any inconvenience.  Thank you for using
Technorati!

Best Regards,
Janice Myint

Thank you Janice!

Another day still no update from Technorati

By , September 13, 2006 11:45 am

Wrote them yet again.  Not expecting any answer other than a autoresponse but will keep trying and posting about their lack of response with each passing day.

Just for giggles try going to the Technoprimitive feed at Technorati  and typing in technorati.  There are 18+ posts since August that show up when searched from the search box on Technoprimitive.org but Technorati shows 0.  And they are susposed to be one of the best sources for current info on the blogging web.  NOT from my viewpoint… 🙁

Technorati Blog Info: TechnoPrimitive

Another monday and as they are showing “Updated: 55 days ago” about Technoprimitive.org, still no joy from Technorati.    Guess I am a non-entity or person nongrata with them or have made it to their blocked list somehow. Wish they would let me know something but untill they do I will keep making these little unhappy posts about them ignoring my site…

July 18 was day Technorati quit indexing Technoprimitive.org

By , September 8, 2006 12:36 pm

Obligitory Technorati is still not taking pings from Technoprimitive.org post of the day…

Got to looking at the dates that Technorati is STILL showing as my last post on here and after doing a bit of math:

31 days in august
+
8 days so far in sept
=
39 total august and sept

52 Number of days since Technorati says blog updated

39 total of aug and sept
= leaving
13 in july

31 total number of days in july

13 number of days in july not updated
=
18 july is day Technorati quit accepting update pings from TechnoPrimitive

So I went to the July archive and found that the last thing posted before it quit updating was Russell Shaw: in fight against terrorists, popcorn factories more dangerous than uninspected container ships which was on July 15. The next thing I posted was on the 19 and was wiat-tv-42 so…

No site updates at that time unless it was something done by my host. And still no response or fix by Technorati.

So now back to my regularly unscheduled posting…

Update: Received the expected…

By , September 3, 2006 11:50 am

The site says 47 days but the last post is showing 50 days. Guess they are taking a long holiday so will not chastise them untill tuesday…

Technorati finally responds

By , September 1, 2006 9:37 pm

With a form letter. Why didn’t they do that the first 2 times I sent this in. Or is this from the first or second complaint/plea for help. Here is the letter I got:

I hope they find it, whatever “it” may be.

Thanks for the response, guys! Waiting to hear from you…

PS – I have now added a catagory just for Technorati since I have posted so much about it… 😉

Technorati is still being a pain in the butt.

By , September 1, 2006 5:59 pm

Went and deleted the feed at Technorati and redid the signup.  They find the new post fine but are still showing that I haven’t updated anything in 47 or 48 days.  And they don’t respond to the contact us thingie…

I suspect that it is all on their end as I am getting all of the other spiders but theirs.  Have checked my robots.txt file and it is the same as the one at my Nero Wolfe site and they are getting new posts there within 3 minutes.  Starting to piss me off!
