yesterday sucked too
Started the day out with a storm. Water coming in front and back doors. I went out and cleared the way for the water to flow around the building and not back up inside.
Wrote the following and failed to post or finish it so will repost it here then finish up the day afterwards…

Started the morning off with a storm. Lots of lightning and rain. As it got closer I disconnected the power from the entire computer and electronics center and left it all off till the worst had moved on. However when it came back up the cable was (and is) out. Did all the unplug and wait and reconnect in sequence thingies and tis still out. Waited an hour and then called CableOne and they have outages all over so I am assuming that the problem is on their end. They have the address logged into their system anyway so am hoping it will be back on sometime soon.
Funny how I am jonesing this soon… Guess I didn't get the surfing out of my system yet today…
Storm has been fun. had water in the greenhouse floor again. Gotta do something soon about the trees so I can get started out there. Had water come in the front door too.
Got to get the backhoe sometime next week.

After a while I called Steve and their cable was working fine. So… I unhooked the wi-fi access point and hook the iBook right to the modem and everything works fine. Then try hooking the ap back up and nada… Went into the ap and reset it to factory settings and still nothing. So to Wally world we go. The had a Motorola wi-fi unit that is 802.11g with removable antenna for $60 so got it (and other things as usual) and came home. Hooked it up and after loading the disk just to get the access ip address, user name and password it hooked right up and after the obligatory reboot and power cycle of all equipment we were back online. Seems to be a faster connection with the motorola. Guess I will try to sent the Netgear back for warranty repair.
Hope tomorrow settles down. Still got to weld some on the bush hog and clear an area for the saw mill to be unloaded… And replace a plug in the tractor. Always something… or 247…
