pieces and bits
puts them together
n see if they fits

feel kinda like warmed over refried shit today and have for the last few days. yesterday was no real exception other than I knew that I had to get wood in or go and buy some so I managed to get a full cord cut, hauled, split and stacked. did about half of it by me self, with cat doing most of the final stacking and bill helped with the cutting, loading and stacking on the last two loads. I can feel it today too. have been up since about 0630 cdt and am just now (1300) feeling like trying to type. the monster maul was a bit much on the hands and arms. plus the chain saw is a mite on heavy side. I like that for the most part but when doing overhead limbing cuts it is almost more than I can handle. Guess I need to get one of the many older saws out and cleaned up to use for just that kind of work.

I also want to make a saw that I can use on high cuts. the ones I have looked at that will do up to 24 feet are way to high priced for me to consider. A long ladder is much cheaper and more versatile/generally useful also.

Wondering about a small hydraulic motor and hoses but the weight of the hydraulic oil alone would exceed any advantage.

so how about an air motor? total loss exaust so no return necessary. one line which can be the cheap lightweight hard plastic curly hose so extension will pose no problem either. need small air motor with gear reduction and bar mount.

Course easiest way is connect an electric chain saw to a pole and use an extension cord. with the bar set at a 45% angle to the pole or looking at the pole as being on a clock face and orientated from 6 to 12 the bar would point at 1:30, the weight of the motor should exert sufficient pressure on the chain to make the cut. certainly if the weight of the pole is added and the chain is reasonably sharp.
