TheDenverChannel.com – Education – Lawmaker Wants Teachers In Hawaii Weighed For Obesity

First let me say: I don’t think we need more laws nor most of the ones that are on the books now. That said, this makes a whole lot more sense than so many of the ones that are being forced on us now.

Amazon.com: So You’d Like to… kill a dude

Not real sure what category this one goes in… But the page is wonderful. I especially like the part:

“First, you must arrange the body in a more easy-to-carry way. The human body is made to be fairly durable, so some kind of saw (‘Stanley 15-113 Contractor Grade High Tension Hacksaw’) will be necessary for the task.”

copper: Definition, Synonyms and Much More From Answers.com

And this entry is here because I couldn’t tell if the word copper was spelled right or not. Looked at it and it looked wrong so looked it up and it is spelled right. Just doesn’t look right to me. Kinda does but look at it again and then it doesn’t. Weird. Hope it goes back to looking normal soon…

Wired News: Global Warming’s Silver Lining

A bit of a rehash of theories. No question about it something will happen… But what? I don’t think any of these folks know what the long range effects will be. The way the weather models are throwing errors now should be enough warning that we don’t have all of the earth’s parameters mapped yet…

Welcome to java vector graphic drawing application and library kingdom!

Works fine on the iBook. Got to spend some more time with it but that seems the way of everything lately. Not sure that I will use it for anything but not sure I won’t. Gimp does most of what I need and Graphic Converter does the rest but they aren’t drawing apps.

Time will tell…

“Haunted Books Prop

Books appear to slide off and
back onto the bookshelf at random.”

This is cool! Not that I am gonna buy one but the concept is interesting and looks easy to make or modify.

Three Pieces in Copper

By , March 29, 2005 3:37 am

These are 3 pieces I am working on that are made out of hand hammered copper. The mushroom caps and the leaf are made from copper that I got from an old piece of 1 inch copper water pipe. I split it down one side and cut a section off. Heated it to soften it a bit and then used tin snips to get the general shape of the piece. Then out come the hammers, anvil and anything else that will work to beat and shape the metal on.

The stems are 3/8 copper water pipe that has been hammered on the sides, flared on the ends and then buffed before soldering to the cap.

I may do a photo layout of making some stuff if there is any interest.
