The downside to using a biometric car lock - Engadget - www.engadget.com.

Been waiting for this. Tis a no brainer that if a body part is needed to unlock something of value, said body part will be removed and used by someone bent on stealing valuable item.

Worked installing a test security system for the gov a few years ago that included a biometric hand scanner. Wondered at the inclusion of this at the time for this very reason. May look and work good in the lab, but the real world tis a very different place. Gotta love those ivory tower design engineers…

This article doesn’t go into depth on the actual figures but what it says does make some kind of warped sense. But I also don’t (gut reaction only here) believe the bit about a hydro generating plant being more polluting than a coal or oil fired plant. Sounds like more of King George’s science “facts” to me.
