Two thoughts here:
1. Very typical BOFH & funny.
2. Disposing of old computer/electronic equipment is a major pain in the ass. Not that it shouldn’t be done responsibly, but it is STILL a major PITA. Although I am STRONGLY against more government intrusion ANYWHERE in our lives, if the companies don’t step up and voluntarily start incorporating (no pun intended there) some sort of end-of-life strategy into their equipment manufacturing/sales cycle (in other words, if you come into possession of a -shudder-Dell computer, for instance, by however means, and it dies on you-and it happens–especially–even to Dells, then there is a process in place for you to take this large paperweight to be properly disposed of at no cost to you.) Yeah, and I believe in the tooth fairy, also…..
