updates

Got the comment preview plugin found and installed yesterday (thursday) but it wasn’t working. Thought I had already upgraded this site but turned out I hadn’t and it was still running wp 1.5. The plugin required 1.5.1.1+ so downloaded it this morning and after completely hosing the site for an hour or so wiped it all and installed a new copy of 1.5.2 and then put the modifications back in.

So the comments preview plugin is now installed and at least showing up. Plan to comment on this post to see…

The buttons show up. Now to see if they work…

And the preview does. Now to test the post.

And it works too. There Is still no way to edit it once you’ve clicked on the post button except through the control panel but this way you can see what it will look like before its set in stone.

And you get to preview your preview too so this should take care of most of the mistooks… 😉

Now to see how it works as someone less than god…

    Preview works fine. Now post.

Let’s see how someone MUCH less than God does….that’s good, you can go back and say “Ooops! That didn’t work right!” and change it. Neat! Now all I have to do is be sure brain is in gear before engaging clutch….

Wasn’t talking about the big G God, but the system admin which is little g god.

I set the user primitive to the same level that you have, that way, when I log in as that user I only have access to the things that you do. And I saw from the quick walk through that I made that there are a LOT of things that Dave can do that primitive can’t. Some of them need to be changed. Will get back into the code and see what I can do.

Seems to me that the registered owner of a comment should be able to correct or change it. I’ve seen both sides of the argument while on perl monks though so I’m gonna think on it before changing too much.
