DASCO 399

My brother found this tool the other day and is wondering what it is/was used for.

DASCO 399

He says in the email:

It is solid steel. Chisel on the right end. Hammer head and single pick on the left. Overall it is about 9″ long. From pick to hammer head it is about 2 1/4″. The lettering on the handle says “DASCO 399”.

Any help/info would be apprecaited.

Ya’ got me. I did a Google search, and the number 1 response was an e-bay auction that ended on January 6th for $.99 (without shipping) for one with a big nick out of the chisel, and the number 2 response was your blog entry. Everything else seemed to be null. Seems like you would either need a pair of them to use the chisel part or another hammer……I just don’t know.

Thanks for looking anyway. i had done the google thingie and got the e-bay auction but as I had not posted to the blog that was the only one that had any real info.

I suspect it to be some kind of removal/reinstalation tool for a special application but have no real knowlege of the sucker.
