   You were expecting the wisdom of the ages? They left out Item 0, which is the top item on both Republican and Democratic lists, and has been top item on EVERY politician’s list for all time: LINE MY POCKET WITH AS MUCH LUCRE AS POSSIBLE!

   I seriously doubt that the Democratic list is much, if any, better. Just leaves a different sort of bad taste in the mouth. If you have read any Tom Clancy, you will remember that to make ANY change in the national government, he had to fly a 747 into the capitol building during a joint session of congress and kill off all of the congress critters except a lucky few who happened to be at home at the time, and even then the entrenched mindset in Washington stopped just about every effort his character made. (This, by the way, was several years pre-911, showing that ideas pop up independently all over the place. Someone should point this out to the patent office sometime….)
