Linux Commands for Beginning Server Administrators – www.reallylinux.com

Good bookmark material for anyone running linux or unix.  Server or not.  Several of the commands were new to me and I have been running linux for several years on the desktop.

The link looks really good! Just what I need, as you know. I finally mastered some of what I need to know last night, and got PCLinuxOS going on a machine with hda & hdb both formatted, and apparently working correctly. And, I also figured out how to access the Windoze machine I needed to! Now I can finally get going, and this site should help bunches!

Of course, by this time tomorrow I might have blown it up again, but, there’s always the reinstall……

    Yep. 😉

But if you put your /home directory in a partition of it’s own or even on a drive of it’s own then all you got to do is NOT format the /home directory and reinstall away. All your data is still safe…

Glad you are trying pclos. Tis the best I have used and I have a LOT of disks, that are different distros, gathering dust. Did you go with BigBrother 0.93a?

Dang if I can figure out what version it is, but it seems to work. Trying to learn a little at a time without blowing anything else up….
