Sunday shelving

By , February 3, 2008 8:43 pm

Spent the morning splitting wood and the afternoon moving cabinets, dusting and placing knickknacks. Resulting in sore arms/hands/shoulders. Will try to report in full on the morrow. Till then…

Had a somewhat busy Sunday, at least for me. Had the usual Sunday morning triumvirate–church, Sunday School, and Wal Mart. With a side order of brief stop at the workbuilding to pick up something I need to have with me when I arrive at the high school Monday morning. Then went home to unload and eat lunch, and start some stew for supper. Was in the midst of lunch when Aaron and one of his friends arrived with a car they wanted me to look at. Immediately discovered that the main belt had departed sometime in the recent past (not the original problem, but not something that could be ignored, either) so they went to get a belt whilst I finished lunch. They returned, and I helped them get the belt on and looked at the car. Something is wrong with the fuel-delivery system, methinks, that makes it extremely reluctant to crank or idle until it is warmed up. This puts it FAR beyond my meager skills. To make things even more interesting for whoever gets to work on it, the original engine has been replaced with a newer model engine of different size. I suggested that he go see the people who put the engine in several years ago, if they are still around, since they would have the best idea what kind of Frankenstein’s monster this is.

After that, I just never could get into my paper-shredding groove, or any other, and the most productive thing I did was watch the Super Bowl with my family–less Aaron, of course, who went to a friends house for the game. Turned in before 10:00. Today is Monday, we’ll have to see what kind of things happen….
