Rainy Thursday
Started raining this am around 6 and continued till well after dark. I’m still on the unhealthy list, so didn’t get out in it at all. Kept the fire going to try to keep warm and that was about the extent of my physical activity today. Charged the camera battery to take a picture for the Too Many Books site header and never got around to taking the walk into the trailer to take the picture. 🙄 Just one of those days. Fixing to hit the sack and go at it again tomorrow. Till then… 😎
Okay, so I didn’t go to bed yet. Started futzing around with gimp and some old pix of books and came up with a header for Too Many Books that’s not too bad. Will still try to get a pix of some of the piled high and deep shelves in the trailer tomorrow and redo it somewhat but it is up for now, for what it’s worth. The site isn’t live yet, as there is nothing in the database. We have about 3000 books in another database that I am trying to get to import into Zen Cart, so when I get all the i’s dotted and t’s crossed maybe we will actually have stuff in there. 😯 Once again I am heading toward the arms of Morpheus, so untill tomorrow…
Was a rainy day, and it sounds/looks like more of the same today. Good for the water table, but kinda depressing. It being Friday helps some….
Had a pretty good day, another variety day, mainly at the high school. A little of this, a little of that, and a good bit of messing with the video conferencing equipment. Finally starting to link with another site, and that brings out the glitches. Or glitch–only one thing I couldn’t get straight, and I think that will take some advice from further up the support food chain. Suspect it’s because there are two major manufacturers of this equipment, and we have one kind and they have the other. There is a setting that needs to be tweaked somewhere, I’m sure.
Got the Tech Fair at JST today, since we are using laptops support is much less tiring. First time we went , we had a TV (or was it two?), ~3 desktop computers, monitors, VCR, extension cords, power strips–about 100 lbs of stuff. This year we have four laptops, an extension cord, and a power strip. I could carry it all at once if necessary. Progress!
Well, gotta go get ready. Stay in and enjoy the sound of rain on the ceiling, and think of me in Leon Cole Auditorium along with a few hundred geeks and their projects. From the 3rd to the 12th grade. It will be interesting, and loud at times….
