takes several minutes to completely boot. Once up and running tis super fast and responsive but getting there is another thing.

Guess I will work on the Vista machine, that is STILL taking way too long to boot, some more. Got several of it’s problems fixed but still

Gonna be at home again today. No way I would trust myself driving 20+ miles each way with a disjointed head like I got right now.

Well, up again after many hours of very weird dreams, tossing and turning, unrestful sleep. Got coffee but still feel lousy.

Hoping the nights sleep will allow me to feel up to the long drive to and from work tomorrow. Till later folks…

Still feeling like crap. Stayed home from work today and slept most of the day, but hasn’t helped much. Fixing to call it an evening.

Got another one I need to put together so Cat can have a desktop machine. Still trying to decide what os to install on it for her.

Well, guess that should be, got a day off from shelving/pricing groceries, so working on computers…

Finally a day off. Slept in a bit late. Got a customers machine updating Vista (Boo! Hiss!), while breakfast cooks.

Tis quite good! Uses same quantity of grounds as my single cup maker. Totally different and much better flavor with the same grounds.

Filled, loaded, and back on the stove. Should be ready in 5 to 7 minutes. Like I need a shot of espresso at this hour of the night… 😉

Link to pict, description, and operating instructions for anyone interested. http://shoppinghevanet.com/kitchen/store-moka-pot.html

Fixing to try a real pot and see how it tastes, though at this hour am only gonna try just a bit of it.

Got an Italian 3 cup Moka pot today. Got it cleaned out with white vinegar and made the first pot which is throwaway coffee.

Still trying to decide if I am gonna stay with Open Office now that Oracle has taken it over. Wish there was a truly free alternative.

So far I like Puppy 510. Works with my Samsung printer, which 501 would not do. Will give it a while and see what else works/doesn’t.

Got the stuff updated without losing too much. Or nothing I didn’t have copies of anyway. 😉

Have burned and booted from the new Puppy. Now to see if I can get it installed without losing all the stuff on the thumb drive.

Just downloaded the newest Puppy Linux and fixing to try to upgrade my usb mem stick. Hoping I don’t lose everything on it in the process.

And Brent has stuff going on in Atlanta tomorrow, so we will be holding down the fort. Heading to the kitchen to figure out supper.

And get things together for tomorrow as we (Cat and I) have got the entire operation to ourselves once again. Mark is headed to Michigan.

All the ones I need to put the laptop back together anyway. Was gonna do that tonight but have still got to fix supper.

Well, after a 2 hour search, I found my magnifiers in a place I looked several days ago. Now have all necessary tools in one place.

Gotta go to Valley Antiques to put out some new stuff and do a bit of rearranging. Back asap… 😉

Now to see if I can move my home folder from this machine to the new one over the network. But that will be later, after we get back.

Resize worked fine. Took some time to get through the check disk and then after a couple of more restarts tis all working as designed.

Well, Ubuntu installed and runs fine. Vista is having to run check disk prior to restarting, and is taking longer than the install did. 🙁

Haven’t tried the resize function before. Guess I’ll see if it works as advertised. For now am gonna lie down and read a bit.

Got the latest Ubuntu http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/maverick/alpha3 resizing the Vista partition and installing on the new computer now.

Downloading the newest alpha Ubuntu release. Tried the previous one and liked it quite a bit more than 10.04. Gonna install it when done.

Getting a very late start today. Hoping I’m caught up on sleep. Got nearly 12 hours last night. Still tired but feel better than yesterday.
