Treehugger: Off-Grid Man Jailed For Confronting Utility Company
Give them hell! We need more just like him!
Damn power company does whatever the hell they want to whether they have right of way or not. And they DO NOT stay within their right of way with the guy wires. They just cut whatever trees down and place them as they need to and to hell with the property owner.
And yes, I AM pissed off at them! They sprayed the line here again friday even though we keep it cut and clear.
Treehugger: Book Review: Woody Harrelson’s “How to Go Furtherâ€
Now if he would go one step further and make it available as a download or even set it up as a website. He would be able to get the message over to a LOT more people and would use NO paper or ink but have less or no income from it either. guess it depends if the message or the money is more important.
Treehugger: New LED “Light Engine” Produces Warm White Illumination
This should be a huge improvement over current types of lights. Nowhere near as breakable and should use a lot less power.
Treehugger: Pallet-House System – Triangular and Cubic Dwelllings
Shelter using pallets. Interesting idea but the highly structured designs don’t seem to me to be practical.

Techdirt: MPAA: The Grateful Dead’s Success Was An Abomination Against Nature
Witness this bizarre exchange between John Perry Barlow and the MPAA’s Dan Glickman debating the future of the entertainment industry. Barlow notes that he made an awful lot of money as a songwriter for the Grateful Dead, which encouraged its fans to make tapes of its shows for free. Glickman immediately responds by saying: “It is ridiculous to believe that you can give product away for free and be more successful. I mean it defies the laws of nature.”

He (Glickman) sounds like a complete idiot. You’d think that folks that make public statements would at least stop and think before opening their mouth. But then we live in the Bush years too… 🙁
