all day

went to calcis thursday for cathy to set up her mothers new computer. I don't do that trailer so sat in the van. for 2 hours. till cat couldn't get the thing to make modem connection. I went in under protest sat down to the computer, tried to concentrate on the screen and ran out the back door as my heart almost tripled its beat and started fluttering a bit. not going back in there. we brought the computer home to set it up. will get to it tomorrow or sunday.

came back through pell city (how else?) and stopped at the american thrift store to check out the books. ended up buying 28 of assorted titles. got 4 john creasey's the toff series that I didn't have. 2 rex stout's nero wolfe, Murder by the Book and another copy of The Doorbell Rang. MBTB is a book club edition and TDR is a readers digest special printing (or some such. don't have it close at hand). Bunch of mysteries as well as some sci-fi.

left there and ate in coal city at the barbeque place there. was not as good as the first time. tea was ok but nothing special. barbeque was ground. weird stuff. cat said her burger was ok but again nothing to talk about.

coming through ragland i noticed how many more buildings were empty. the place is getting to be a ghost town. still want to spend some time there and learn some of the local history. need to pull out and dust off the story i start there.

heard of a place around northport above tuscaloosa called kentuck (?) i think. susposed to be an artist colony or something along those lines. guess i need to google it and see what and where. need to take a break for a day or two.

looks like an interesting place. not sure if i want to go that way though. or direction. would rather go south or east or south east.
