Back is done in as is the rest of me. Most all of this stuff is cast iron and quite heavy. Don’t know how I am gonna get the mill moved up.

Got another clock in for repair this afternoon. Needs at least two bushings, pivots polished and possibly 2 replaced, and a full cleanup.

But tis gonna get done and soon. Along with the shaper, band saw, bench grinders, and some other stuff. Slowly, slowly eats the elephant…

Got the vice table, machinists vise, Atlas drill press and assorted tools moved too. Still got to clean and mount the vise n drill press.

Still got some alignment to do but overall seems to be good enough for right now. Also moved most of the mill bits, lathe tools, and such.

Been a long busy and productive day. Got the lathe moved from the barn to the q-hut. Cleaned up, lubed, and working.

For now am gonna do a bit more browsing and then call it an early night. Tomorrow will be a day at Piedmont. Till later, folks…

Needs some work on the case but the mech is in like new condition. Haven’t decided to take it to the store or work on it here first.

more than I had planned on. But did get several really good deals. Got a set of 6 stacking tables to use for displays and a nice wall clock.

Made the trip there and back again, with only a few major irritations along the way. Stopped at the antique mall in Pell City and spent way

Long night last. But survived the winds n all, and am up with coffee. Heading to Calcis this morning to carry a load of stuff to Cat’s mom.

Gonna have to take Friday or Saturday and go to Calcis so may have to work up there Sunday. Just gonna have to see what the weekend brings.

Need to take some time and work in The Little Curiosity Shoppe, but suspect it will be the weekend before I can do much in there.

Another long day putting up groceries. And dealing with customers. Still got nearly 4 full pallets to get put up so gonna be a long week.

Feet are too. Guess shelves will wait another day or two.

Working on supper. Trying to decide if I want to start on building shelving later or put it off another day. Back is telling me no more.

Most of these were somewhere between the two extremes. Got 4 or 5 more to get put out this week. Looks to be a long week…

Got about half a pallet of banana boxes put out. Full pallet is 42 boxes. Each box can hold between 12 and 200 items.

Made it through Monday. Got the additional shelving unit put up in the 3rd room at the store. Moved a few things around. Still lots to do.

Still up though not for long. Water pressure came back up a few minutes ago. Don’t know if it was some of the fires we have had or what.

Gonna fix supper and may call it a very early night. Don’t know why I am so exhausted but am. Hoping it is just tired and not a relapse.

Now we have very low water pressure. Have checked the meter twice to make sure it’s not on our side. Been going on for at least 1.5 hours.

Will see how I feel after a rest. Till later…

Still got all the stuff I needed to get done today to do. Don’t think any of it will get done as I am exhausted.

Stocked up. Should have gotten more but sale will be on till Tuesday so may go back. Got milk at the Shell station and saved a $1+.

Just made a run to Food Land in Alexandria where assorted Bush’s beans/blackeyed peas were 2/$1, sausage 4lbs/$5, ground chuck $2.29 lb.

After all the prep was done took about 20 minutes and that included finding rubber and steel washers to anchor the tank to the wall.

Cut the shape of the base out of the plastic as well as a 7 1/8 inch circle out where the flange fits. Installed it and then the toilet.

Got back, found a 1/4 inch sheet of plastic and cut a spacer to set the toilet up a bit as the cement floor has sunk but the flange hasn’t.

Got an additional wax ring in case the one included didn’t include a funnel, which it did so will take the other one back next trip.

As Marvin’s was about $10 higher per unit went on to Lowe’s where we found the cheapest one out of stock, so got the $79 one instead.

After taking the tank off, found additional cracks in the base so time for new toilet. Got ready and went to Lowe’s with a stop by Marvin’s.

Upon investigating found the tank had a weeping crack all the way down the front??? Not sure when or how it happened but had to be replaced.

So much for the things I wanted to get done today. Went into the bathroom and noticed water on the floor behind the toilet.

First, more coffee though…

Ended up reading about machining and clock repair till I made an early night of it last night. Hoping to get several things done today.

Supper started. Or breakfast for supper. Doing hash browns, corned beef, and eggs. Too tired to get fancy tonight.

Guess I need to get to fixing supper, so back later…

Getting closer, I think… Got two more clocks yesterday. Both have problems but nothing that I can’t fix.

Then can get the support put in against the wall. Next will be the one behind the stove and then can put the joists and decking in.

Set the walk board on top of them but got to take it back down and tighten the bolts on one ladder.

Got the area by the wall in the south room cleared out and just now moved the excess rocks outside. Which enabled me to get the ladders up.

Only one more day to go and the week is over. Still having some sinus problems but mostly over the crud. Been too tired to post lately.

Will still require taking out a few more trees, but they have got to come down whether we build something else there or not.

Leaning toward 24 x 32 two story, located to the south of our existing dwelling. Already got most of the grading done out there.

Have about settled on building an entire new building to house the shop and some of the storage. Still in the planning stages at present.

Haven’t gotten any further with getting stuff moved from the barn to the Q-hut, and doubt that I will till at least mid-week if not weekend.

Did the day at Piedmont today without any real problems. Still got some congestion but think I am mostly over the bug finally.

At this point I’d rather refund the payments and keep my china cabinet than have any further dealings with her. Up to her…

Ain’t happening. Offered to deliver it for a sum that she thought was just totally unacceptable. She has pissed off 1 of the owners too so..

Then wanted to be able to take more time to pay it off. Then wanted me to jump to her bidding and get out there to load it for her.

Which is fine, as I hope to never see her again. I had knocked over a hundred off a piece I sold her, then she wanted it on layaway.

Took a load out to Valley Antiques and via proxy managed to piss off a customer that pissed me off to the max not to mention cost me money.

Looking like another couple of days of work to get it up here and ready to actually get some work done. But I guess I’m closer.

Still got to move the work table with vice after cleaning it off. Also still got a couple of more truckloads from the Q-hut to move out.

2 truck loads of stuff moved out of the Q-hut and over to the storage building. Hand trucks located and tires pumped up.

The day be done. Or the part of it that I am expending energy in. Got the lathe/table cleaned off/up. Tools/assorted bits in boxes.

Well tis morning and I is up, though not going at it yet. Got a lot to do but trying to get this headache to subside prior to starting.

Tis late and looks like tomorrow will be a more involved day than planned so till then… ๐Ÿ˜‰

Looks like tomorrow will be a bit busier than I had planned. Nothing like making things interesting with new projects…

Just got to clear out a place in the qhut to move the lathe into. Which will most likely mean removing some of the book shelves.

But in some ways I guess it will make things a bit easier/cheaper. Won’t have to order the tools I mentioned earlier or the bushings.

So looks like I will have to machine new ones. Hope my pre WWII lathe is up to the precision that will be required.

Looks like the repair on the Ingraham movement is gonna be a bit more involved than I had thought. Non standard bushings in place now.

Need to charge the camera battery to get lots of pics of this movement before, while, and after tearing it down, to put it back together.

Nothing like jumping in way over the head in trying to get the toes damp… ๐Ÿ˜‰

Looks like I get to order tools to do the bushings with on both movements. Thought this one was ok but it needs at least 6 pivots bushed.

Picked up the Ingraham movement and brought it home to work on. Want to do if first as it has about half the gears the Seth Thomas does.

Made it all the way through the day at Piedmont. Overall I feel pretty good. Hoping I am over this mess. Another day or two will tell.

@jephjacques Just remember, it’s only one wire at a time. And anyone who can solder can connect one wire at a time. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Gonna try to do a full or nearly full day at Piedmont tomorrow. Not sure how much I’ll do once up there but hoping I can stay the course.

And then home. Been clearing and rearranging shelves since we got back, still trying to get the south room clear enough to work in.

And the required trip through WW. Got some acetone, denatured alcohol, and nitrile gloves for cleaning and handling clock parts.

Afterward, back out to J’ville to Warren Ace Hardware where we got a bottle of O2 for the torch and a needle file set. Then got truck fuel.

Guess I am doing better. Been up all day without a nap. Did a bit of out and about to pay bills. Made a stop by Lowe’s, then home for lunch.

Am awake. Much worse than last night but hoping that just is the before coffee feeling. Will see. Have first cup in hand.

Overall I feel pretty good compared to day before yesterday, so hope I/we are on the road to recovery. For now sleep beckons and I obey.

After eating some I added some tomatoes and spinach. Hoping it will be better, or at least eatable. Gonna try to get out again tomorrow.

Got some stuff cleaned off the table I need to move but got a way to go. Cooked a pot of deer burger and bacon stew which we had for supper.

Up too late again tonight. Got out for a bit this afternoon and went to Valley Antiques, then the bank, and back home.

And will be much more interesting to build. Ah, well, should go pretty quickly once I get the side supports put into place.

Which will give about 3 times the storage by finishing the second floor. Will be more work, but won’t take much longer.

Rethinking what I had planned on doing with the upper shelf. Measured and checked the wood supply and have decided to go with original plan.

Well, dizzies are gone when I am seated, however, standing, moving around, and especially turning the head quickly bring them back. ๐Ÿ™

Dizzies seem to be gone so I think I can do the ladder thing again. Will see here in a bit. First got to move a pile of toolboxes n a table.

Thinking about getting back to the upper shelves in the south room. Got to get them done before any more progress can be made in there.

Will get some tea of some description or the other instead. Feeling better, though not anywhere near well. Wood heater is nice n toasty.

Tis still somewhat morning. Been up a while, browsing and catching up on feeds. Second cup of coffee almost gone. Want more/know better.

Think I am finally on the mend. Hoping so anyway. Tis late and I need rest, so till the morrow folks… ๐Ÿ˜‰

Sticking quite good now. Looks to be around a 1/2 inch.

Snow coming down pretty good here just Northwest of Weaver. Not much sticking yet as ground is still too warm.

Once home, took a section out of the flue, replaced the outside elbow and rotten section of pipe and cleaned both inside and outside pipes.

Made a run to J’ville. Paid the power bill, got a section of 8″ flue n some Slick50 onelube at Warren Ace, and got a few things at WW.

Think I need to wait on that, and just do the running around local, see how I feel after that.

Hoping to make a quick run to Piedmont this afternoon. Want to get at least one of the clock movements to start cleaning.

Still have some dizziness and disorientation. Went to put the margarine in the fridge and it ended up in the microwave. ๐Ÿ™ But I AM better.

Still at home but doing better. Going to try getting out and about a little today but want to make sure to not overdo it.

The Woodwright’s Shop – Steam Powered Sawmill http://video.pbs.org/video/1427672521

Well, got the repair ok on the second of the 3 clocks in for repair. Don’t think this Ingraham will take as much work as the Seth Thomas.

seems to have been removed from YouTube.

Still moving but only just. Finished watching The Edwardian Farm. Was a quite interesting show. Wanted to see The Victorian Farm too but

Well the coffee nor breakfast have helped. Drinking herbal tea now and doing little other than browsing. Tis a really blaugh day.

Must have more coffee, and things will get better. That’s the ticket…

Beginning to think that am gonna have to resort to meds rather than let the bod cure it’s self with rest and liquids.

And 10+ hours later I drag myself out of bed. Not willingly but the fire was out and getting cold in here. Feel worse this am than in days.

Didn’t realize it was so late. Till the morrow, good people… ๐Ÿ˜‰

Got to order special clock oil, bushings, and a few special tools tomorrow or the next day. Most other stuff am gonna get locally.

Hoping to keep it under 2 hundred to start out with and most likely will be able to keep it under a hundred if I make a few needed tools.

But that’s true of any new enterprise. I’ve got a lot of the tools and materials I need already so the cash outlay is fairly small.

Have certainly learned a lot of things to not do. ๐Ÿ™‚ And found a lot of things I am gonna have to spend money on buying.

Since I seem to be getting a fair number of pieces in to work on, seems like time to learn to do it right, rather than just make them work.

Been spending the time learning a bit more about clocks and clock repair. Something I have been interested in for years.

Tried another version but can’t get the wireless to work with it. ๐Ÿ™ Think my head ain’t working tonight so am giving up for now.

Just tried another stick of ram in the Compaq laptop. Still freezing when running Puppy. Wondering if I need to be running an older version.

Ended up having to go out to get milk. Took back roads so wasn’t too bad. Just don’t trust myself driving when like this.

Managed to stay upright long enough to take much needed shower. Am now not gonna go out. Keep loosing my balance just walking so no driving.

And hope that tomorrow will be a better day.

Going to try to get out and pay a bill or two today, along with picking up some needed groceries. Other than that just gonna rest.

Am quite ready for this bug to be gone. Mornings seem to be the worst, with afternoons not so bad and evenings mostly fair.

For a work shop that is. Not quite sure what I’m gonna build it out of or even how it will get done but that’s the area under roof.

is mostly flat and with a roof of about 24 feet wide, I can have an inner room of 20 by 30 or 600 sq feet which is about what I want.

Looking at the area out back (south of the existing dwelling), there’s an area at least 30 feet out that

Think I am gonna wait and see how I sleep tonight and feel in the morning and make a decision then.

Need to but this ear is still giving me fits from time to time, and the lymph nodes in my throat are still quite swollen.

Am really feeling the afternoons exertions now too. Not sure if I am gonna try to go to Piedmont tomorrow or wait another day.

Thought about doing it for years, just now getting round tuit. Afterward moved, split, and stacked a bunch of firewood with a friends help.

Spent part of the afternoon modifying an old store rollaround display thing into a rollaround work table with tool/part storage in the base.
