Then get to pay and wait for shipment. Hope to see it latter part of the week. Then get to fix some of these clocks piling up around here.

Also got an order for clock parts placed. Now waiting for the email letting me know what is in and out of stock and shipping costs.

And the new installed. Now to get n install 2 new locks, fix the legs, reinstall the doors, and it’ll be ready to sell.

Long Monday at the store. Got the handle off of the marque door, finally. Took drilling the head off the retaining screw, but got er done.

After that have decided to put off further work on it tonight. Still not feeling up to par so probably just as well.

Located a bolt that would work, selected a drill bit of the size needed for the bolt to fit through and proceeded to split the wood. 🙁

That was not a productive Sunday afternoon. Spent it snoozing. Woke a bit earlier and went out to finish the brake on the mainspring winder.

Still need to get to Lowe’s to pick up a few bits to finish the mainspring winder. Not sure if I’ll make it or not.

Started the day feeling pretty ok. As it’s gone on not so much. At this point wanting to go to bed but got to go fix lunch.

For now am gonna try to get some sleep, so till the morrow… And the weather radio goes off yet again. And the rain starts back also…

Thinking it’s gonna be a LONG night…

Need to make a run to Lowe’s in the am to get some stuff to finish the mainspring winder among other projects.

Been an interesting night weather wise. No real problems but lots of rain and lightening. Hoping it settles down soon so we can sleep.

Food about ready, so will be back later…

Gonna see how it will run on a variac to slow it down more. Hope to drop it to half the speed it runs now but if not will still be usable.

Works really well, runs nice and slow, and will make a very nice drive unit for a clock pivot polishing lathe. Came with a clip on stand.

Got one small 1/4 inch Craftsman gear reduction electric drill. Just got doen with tearing it down, cleaning, lubing, & replacing the cord.

Mostly things that I can use, along with a few I might be able to part with. Still trying to decide if I want to get rid of any of them.

Really need to quit buying stuff! Went to a yard/barn sale today and spent WAY too much. Got mainly tools but they were REALLY cool stuff!

what it will bring nonworking in parts. Didn’t cost me anything but a little time so will be all profit any way it works out.

Just disassembled a Compaq laptop. Think I am gonna see what the bits will sell for on feebay. Not sure I will go that route but wondering

Then had to make a run to do some other stuff which ended up taking longer than had planned so guess will get back on it tomorrow or Sunday.

Hooked it up to check it out and found that it was missing a spring on the shaft lock. 45 minutes later had one made and it back together.

Needed to use a router to do some of the finish work so got the one I had bought a couple of years back but not used out of the case.

Had planned on getting more done on the mainspring winder this evening, even had hopes of finishing it. Twas not to be.

Rest of the bits shouldn’t be too much of a problem. Gonna have to get the jig saw and router out to finish it up so think am done tonight.

Twas either that or cut off a few fingers that I kinda need. Got way too close as it was, but better to feel the breeze than the blade…

Got 5 of the 9 pieces cut. Had to make a box/sled to put some of the pieces in to support them on 2 sides to cut with the radial arm saw.

May go back tomorrow and see what’s left/new. For now am gonna go and see about cutting some of the wood for the mainspring winder.

Ended up with a truck full of stuff and they had other stuff we wanted but just no room, either in the truck or the store.

Sucker is 7+ feet high, 45 inches wide, with 31 inch wide/deep base. Is now on wheels, though originally was not, from the mop/wax marks.

a snake/decorator basket, assorted cups/ceramics, a small display case, and a BIG dual sided glass doored theater poster marque.

Had planned on doing other things but saw the sign on the way to eat and had to stop on the way back in. Got some glass, Coke collectibles,

Another slow day in the big city of Piedmont. Printed and put labels on cans of food for part of the morning. Went to a yard sale at lunch

Things are still super slow in Piedmont right now. Hoping it will pick up as the week progresses. But not holding my breath.

Well tis much later. 2 days so it seems. Still got a lot of stuff to do cleaning up outside but didn’t pursue it tonight.

Need to get back at the yard cleanup. Till later…

Last post was supposed to read – Battery and drill both worked great!

orked great! As did the window to get rid of some of the heat in the loft.

Well, both batteries took a full charge. Used one of them to run a bunch of screws in a vent window I installed in the loft earlier.

Last post should read – taking the “big” sliding door out…

Thinking about taking the bit sliding door out completely and putting in windows, or adding a room out front with windows on the north side.

Now on to more cleaning, moving, sorting, and trying to get the Q-hut turned (back) into a working shop.

Both are taking a proper charge from the Ryobi charger now. 🙂 Guess that was a well spent $5…

First one (which would hold a bit of a charge) went to 13.8 volts first time around. Other one took two hot shot cycles to get there.

After it was working did the apply full 12 volt charge across each cell for about 6 to 8 seconds and then check output voltage of battery.

Checked them this morning and both had several dead/0 Volt cells. Got old battery charger from barn, then spent half an hour fixing it.

Bought older Ryobi 14.4 volt drill yesterday. Had 2 batteries with it, one that would hold slight charge, other dead.

Cooking a late supper. Or actually nuking some and cooking some. Should have started earlier but am having a bad case of no energy…

With emphasis on famine.

A very long day at the store. Did mostly shelf stocking with the very occasional customer to wait on. Tis a very feast or famine town…

The grocery store that is. The Little Curiosity Shop isn’t doing nearly as well. We did a little bit today but not enough to cover costs.

Twas a totally exhausting day at the store. Did more business by noon than a couple of days last week, and didn’t slow down much all day.

@ScionBoo Yea, tis one of the old tabletop Atlas drill presses with 5 speeds, and 5 gang pulleys. Weighs somewhere around 300 lbs.

Need to get some pix of this stuff, but tis such a pain with the old cam. Need to see about getting a new one sometime soon.

Just finished turning an extension for the mainspring winder so it will do loop end springs. Made it out of the same plastic as the handle.

@ScionBoo And most of that would end up being cut away. The one I have on there now will work, just won’t be able to change speeds.

@ScionBoo Could, but will be a LOT easier to cast a rough one and trim it up with the lathe. Would take a chunk of metal 7″ dia x 4″ long.

Course now I have forgotten what I needed to use the drill press for. 🙁

Next time I get the aluminum smelter set up I’ll see about pouring a new one.

Shaft ended up an odd size so I reshaped/sized a spade bit to drill the holes for it in the wood. Took a couple of dead hard drives apart

Been working on clock tools all day. Got the crank part of the mainspring winder done. So now most of the rest is wood work.

Have lots that I need to do today but am doubting many if any get done. Especially as it’s after 4 (new time) and all I want to do is nap…

Decided I had too much else to do so didn’t bring the clock home to work on over the weekend. Will get to it when I do. Waiting is…

Long, LONG day at Piedmont today. Quite busy part of the time, but still long patches with no one around. Home now and thinking about a nap.

Will see about bringing it home tomorrow and getting started on it over the weekend. Well, guess it’s past time to get on to supper…

Need to bring it home and give it a complete clean and lube. Mainsprings are sticking and suspect at least two of the wheels need rebushing.

Made it home. Sitting down for a minute prior to starting supper. Has been a very tiring and long day. Did buy a clock and got it running.

before I can even think about it.

Tis one of those days. Having a hard time thinking or doing much of anything. Think I need to take a day or so off but looks like next week

Supper ingested. Fire built. Getting to sit down and kick back finally. Gonna be an early night.

Gonna do that after eating though as am in need of food.

Been a long tiring day. Just got in a few minutes ago and am finishing cooking supper now. Still got to get the woodburner fired up.
