Not that that is a bad thing… 😉

The Shaving Horse

Good info on the shaving horse.  Guess I will try building one of the dumbhead type sometime soon.  The one I have now is the English two post type but limits the size of the stock I can shave or work.

There and back again

In the same day.  280+ miles is more than I enjoy driving in a day any more. That alone tired me out, not to mention the 3+ hours walking around at the faire.  Enjoyed the acts and vendors and renewed aquantences of some of the folks we have gotten to know over the last 3 years of visiting.  I got some pix and Cat got a lot more.  Will get them up soon.  Course I said that last year and still haven’t posted them.  Guess I need to do that too…  Soon.  Really.

Looks like a good deal.  Wondering about using these for path/road lighting down to and around the camp ground.  Should be able to use them a LONG way from the current source on even small wire.  Guess the only one way to find out if it will work or not is to buy a batch and try it.

What is a Sonofabitch?

By , September 17, 2006 4:24 pm

Just received this from my brother, Mark, and though I have seen it before it is still SO true. Not to mention that the new WordPress makes it so easy to add pictures so I just gotta post it… 😉

Quite often we ask ourselves hard to answer questions, like,”What is a sonofabitch?” The only true thing is that a picture is worth a thousand words.

Bomb Squad deactivation

In this photo, the guy on the right is a member of a bomb squad in midst of a deactivation. The guy behind him, well, he’s a sonofabitch.

Any questions? 😉

Boing Boing: Princeton researchers show how to steal an election with Diebold machines

If you have any doubts about this being possible just go and watch the video .  They claim it takes about a minute to infect a machine.
So how many stolen elections are due to Dieblod? Can we sue them for the last 6 years of crooks and liers in office and massive loss of human life that this has caused? Sounds like a good class action suit to me…

A comment with a title like “Are you there?” is NOT going to get approved

By , September 8, 2006 6:07 pm

The comment spammers are now using stuff like:

Are you there?…

All the darkness in the world cannot put out the smallest candle. The darker it is, more brightly shines the candle. instead of complaining about the dark search for your candle. Believe me; It exists…

To try to get comments by the spam cops but all of the comments that are made here are either caught by Akismet (which is a WordPress plugin that uses a central database to track and catch spam, cool idea and well apprecated here for sure) or by me as I have to approve all of the comments whether made by friend or foe before they see the light of the cpu on your end.  Wish they would all quit with this crap but somehow someone is making money off of this.

One of those days

By , September 7, 2006 4:39 pm

After spending 4 hours getting ready to being able to move a chair, the hole I was looking for (to run ethernet cable in) wasn’t under it after all. So I went to the next isle and started to kneel down to look closer as the light right at the wall isn’t too good. As I went down I kicked back with my left foot as my right knee went to the floor, which would have been fine if the bottom corner of the subwoofer (30 inch cube, made of a sheet and a half or so of 5/8 particle board, and HEAVY (this equates to very non moving)) hadn’t been in the way of my ankle as it went by. Tore a bit of skin off and made me say many bad words but seemed to be ok so while I was down there anyway I looked for the hole for the ethernet cable to feed through. Getting up it was a bit painful but not too bad. The swelling started about half way down the hall. By the time I was in the center room by the display cases I was limping and holding on to the nearest case. Looked at the ankle and wondered where the egg (medium) attached to it had come from. I limped back here (Repair shop) as it has an air conditioner and the computers, since the ethernet isn’t run yet. 🙁 Got a chair and some pillows and ice (thanks Cat!) and am sitting with the foot in the chair wanting to be out finishing up the cable run. Waiting is… A real pain at times like these…

Blair: Tackle troublemakers before birth – Europe – MSNBC.com

Has Blair gone completely nuts?  I thought that there was some kind of check and balance in place to keep nutbags like this under control.  Guess he’s either trying to out do or take the heat off of Bush.  1984 again and again…
