Had put it together before with just 2 of the larger ones and there was a bit of a bump when it went around the pulleys. Tis all smooth now.

Adjusted the tension and it all works again. Actually better than the old belt has in a while. And I like the smaller ties better too.

Used the 4 slot lacing punch on both ends and put it together with the smallest zip ties I had. Tightened the ties up and cut them off.

Dug out the strip and strap cutter, adjusted the blade and width and cut the old belt down and made a new one for the lathe.

Piedmont as it had no buckle and was personalized to “Eddie”, and I knew the one on the lathe was close to going. Found the leather tools.

Other stuff won. Had broken the belt on the lathe earlier while working on the chuck, so found an old leather belt we had brought home from

Lunch done. Fire built. Trying to decide if nap is necessary or if I have the energy to get some other stuff done. So far nap is wining…

time back that I cut apart and can modify to use at the head stock. Where shaft goes through the bushing is scored, but should turn down ok.

Now I can at least make the tools and a smaller lathe to work on the clock stuff with. Got a Dremal flexible hand piece that froze up some

At least with the existing chuck. This is the large one, as the smaller one I was trying to get working was between 7+ out. Way too much.

Well after about 3 hours of work on the lathe, this morning, got it within a couple of thousandths. Guess that will have to be good enough.
