Had put it together before with just 2 of the larger ones and there was a bit of a bump when it went around the pulleys. Tis all smooth now.![]()
Adjusted the tension and it all works again. Actually better than the old belt has in a while. And I like the smaller ties better too.![]()
Used the 4 slot lacing punch on both ends and put it together with the smallest zip ties I had. Tightened the ties up and cut them off.![]()
Dug out the strip and strap cutter, adjusted the blade and width and cut the old belt down and made a new one for the lathe.![]()
Piedmont as it had no buckle and was personalized to “Eddie”, and I knew the one on the lathe was close to going. Found the leather tools.![]()
Other stuff won. Had broken the belt on the lathe earlier while working on the chuck, so found an old leather belt we had brought home from![]()
Lunch done. Fire built. Trying to decide if nap is necessary or if I have the energy to get some other stuff done. So far nap is wining…![]()
time back that I cut apart and can modify to use at the head stock. Where shaft goes through the bushing is scored, but should turn down ok.![]()
Now I can at least make the tools and a smaller lathe to work on the clock stuff with. Got a Dremal flexible hand piece that froze up some![]()
At least with the existing chuck. This is the large one, as the smaller one I was trying to get working was between 7+ out. Way too much.![]()
Well after about 3 hours of work on the lathe, this morning, got it within a couple of thousandths. Guess that will have to be good enough.
