Hoping it will let me finish splitting the rest that is cut tomorrow. If either of us can move. Which the way I feel now is a possibility.

Have a not so nice lump about 6 inches below my left knee that quite is painful, both to touch and to walk on now that I’ve slowed down. 🙁

Still more than that that is cut but has to be split. Only one mishap and that was splitting a round that bounced into my leg.

This am sharpened & prepped the chain saw & started cutting wood. 5+ hours later, I’ve cut & split & Cat has hauled & stacked 2/3 of a cord.

Figure by the time I get it cut down and ready to put the axe head on I’ll be way too tired to even try it out. Getting close now…

Got it roughly axe handle shaped. Now to get the rest of the curves cut out and take it on down to comfortable size for my hands.

Took a tree about 5″ in diameter that I cut down last fall and cut a 3 foot section out of it. Split 2 sides off and been shaving it down.

Dilbert comic strip for 11/29/2011 from the official Dilbert comic strips archive. http://t.co/l35VRkcc LOL!

Tis not shaving sharp but good enough to put a handle in and see how it will cut. Gonna eat lunch (warming on woodburner) and go back to it.

Then rough ground the edge on the grinder and then moved to the flat stone, which I had to reflatten from previous sharpenings.

Then spent about 30 minutes with the handpowered grinder with the coarse stone cleaning up the back end from sledge hammer blows.

Bought a single bit axe head a while back and decided to clean it up and make a handle for it. Got the old handle piece driven out.

Fire is keeping the place much warmer than the last few weeks with the electric heater. Been outside working and came inside to the tropics.

Have it out of the way of the stove but need to move it around some more to get things to feel right in there. Then on to other gottados…

Started the first fire of the season. Feels and smells quite nice. Still trying to figure out the layout for the furniture in the room.

Pipes cleaned, elbow replaced, ashes from last fire of the spring removed and hauled outside. Cut up a piece of heart pine for kindling.

Took the outside elbow out to clean the pipes and found that it had a hole rusted in it. Which necessitated a trip to Lowe’s for a new one.

Decided since it was getting quite cool out, that it was time to clean the flue and fire up the woodburner.

Then I can get the ladder in there and take a closer look. If I last that long. Right now want to crawl back in bed and sleep the day away.

Still don’t see where the leak is originating from. Got a couple of more trees to take out after lunch/resting/warming up.

One of those jobs I have been dreading for years but as 2 of them are dead and the others are dying tis time to clear them all out.

Got the path cleared into the section between buildings and have started clearing out the smaller trees. Looks like all the pines gotta go.

Sharp axes cut SO much better. Looks like I’m gonna have to put a handle in this one soon though. Glad I got the shaving horse fixed.

Had to come in and cool off/rest for a bit. If I don’t collapse will try to get back out and at least finish the path/road into that area.

Got further than I had figured I would. Even found a end section of scaffolding that I had lost far too many years ago.

Not a project to start on a wet cold day. Will see how far I get prior to total exhaustion. Think it’s time to charge the tractor battery.

After a bit more of a rest. Still got a lot more brush to clear but need to clear the entire side as some of the big pines need dropping.

After I sharpen the axe or put a handle in the other axe. Or work on the chainsaw and sharpen the chain. Think I’ll start with sharpening.

Maximum dirt and sweat seems to keep folks at a reasonable distance. 😉

Need to go out and get milk but am not sure I want to brave the crowds or not. Think I will finish digging the firepit and then go.

Afterwards cleaned up an area between the 2 shelters and have been digging a new firepit and reading one of Roy Underhill’s early books.

Had to replace 2 legs, both side pieces of the clamp, the clamp hinge pin, and the base adjustment block. Then made a new small axe handle.

Got one of the emt rafters bent correctly and been doing other stuff since. Got enough of the shaving horse rebuilt/replaced to use now.

Really hoping to get them all shaped, cut to length, and put up today. Just depends on my energy level which is quite low at the moment. 🙁

Cleaned out the 10 x 20 and remarked the pattern for the emt ribs that are the vardo’s roof supports. Got one close to shape.

Planning on using it out back for a fire pit. Now to find the energy to dig out a flat spot to set the blocks and pan in.

Got the trash barrel moved to the field where I dug a pit last week, which frees up the stainless steel base I had it on.

Back from the overindulgence of the day. Trying to get up the energy to do something productive but so far unable to do so.

Time-Machine? Yeah! http://t.co/r7NRtJTn Tardis fridge – Cool!

Whichever will see about moving more stuff in out there on Friday. Also going to go with a 30% off sale on the booth items till Christmas.

If not then will see about doing something on Friday. Other option is to finish some of the pieces in progress here in the living room.

Got to get more shelves moved into the back booth. May try to build some tomorrow afternoon depending on when we get back from Turkey day.

Got 2 additional shelving units put up in the front booth. Added a rod and hung jewellery in the case. Moved a table out of the back booth.

Day in the barrel is done. Not sure when I will be working there next. Other than in our booths. Got a fair amount done with them too.

Lightening to the south of us but from the radar it looks like most of the rain is over for the evening unless more pops up.

Center leg made and installed on bench. After 1 broken screw and 1 assembly mistake. Was gonna leave the screw but had to take it apart…

Going to take 4 on each end of the camper roof. Have 2 done so far. Then get to start cutting the 6″ and 18″ pieces to deck the overhangs.

Fit with less than a 1/4″ to spare. Now to clean up the mess, add one more leg in the middle and make the rest of the scalloped roof ends.

Already had a 2×4 at 32″ off the floor where the bed will be so added one on the long side by the door and sat the workbench top on them.

Got to thinking about the workbench top fitting (lengthwise) into the camper and went back out to look at it.

Looks like this is gonna be the pattern for the rest of the afternoon and on into tonight. Wanted to get more done outside but not to be.

Finished just as the bottom fell out again. Got inside and it quit though the weather map shows us getting soaked. Coming down hard now.

Got the awning down and tis a wall again. Moved the workbench top into the camper and it just fits. Moved a few more pieces of wood in too.

I need to go and drop the side awning on the 10×20 for the coming wind and rain event. Looks like I have a few minutes till next rains here.

Got the tools and assorted crap that had accumulated on the 8′ bench outside the camper cleaned off and stuffed inside just as the rain hit.

Put up some shelves under the awning on the side of the mobile home the other day to stack shorter pieces of lumber on. Added a tarp today.

Got the piles of scrap lumber cleaned out from under the camper. Got the pile of long stuff moved from in front of the camper.

So I still haven’t finished cleaning the wood scraps from under there. Time for another cup of coffee and back at. Roof is next project.

Decided to run the wire in the center channel of the frame instead of conduit. Finished it a lot faster and didn’t have to crawl underneath.

Which I meant to install prior to putting down the flooring but forgot about till it was too late… 🙁

Think it’s about time to clean the piles of scrap wood out from under the camper so I can get under there to hang the light wiring conduit.

Wired the adapter and light connector on the truck, so that part is done. Got to find more wire to finish hooking up the trailer lights.

Got the safety chains, now got to figure out how to mount them securely. Made brackets and mounted the trailer lights.

Ball mounted on truck, and hopefully tight enough. Coffee on and about ready. Going to salvage safety chains from boat trailer.

Trailer coupler is now fixed with all new moving bits from new coupler I got at the flea market for less than the price of the repair kit.

Then can set the door and get started on the front and rear overhang. The new sawblades made a big difference in the speed of getting it up.

Got the last outside boards screwed in place in the back wall of the camper. Still got the 2×4 header for the door to put in place.

The Bosch jigsaw blades make an incredible difference in the way the saw cuts! WELL worth the $$$. Looks like my old blades go in the scrap.

Looking at them out of the box makes me want to brave the cold to go cut something! Had to be careful to not cut fingers just handling them.

Picked up a set of assorted Bosch jigsaw blades. Might be (is) the most I have ever spent on jigsaw blades but they are droolworthy.

I think we sold about a third of my stock of newer necklaces. Going to redo most of the older stuff with different clasps.

The festival at Auburn was a bit crazy at times. Made 2 other necklaces and a bracelet today. Need to have done more but life intervened.

Just finished tying a hemp, arrow head, coyote tootth, & bone bead necklace. Replaceing the 3 buffalo tooth necklace I sold off my neck.

Had planned on working on the camper today but the weather isn’t cooperating. Tornado warning for our area now. Radar shows it just west.

Correction on last post: Top is 22.5″ deep. Total footprint is 52″ wide x 22″ deep x 59.75″ high. Breaks down into 9 pieces total.

The 3 slanted shelves hold 12 boxes of beads and findings. Bench holds the toolbox on one side with a 30″ w x 25″ d work area on the other.

Got the workbench built and moved inside. Takes down in about 2 minutes (after moving all the stuff off of it) and goes back up in about 4.

Next to get the base/sides laid out. Got the general design figured out, just got to finalise some details and get the measurements figured.

Got the side supports installed on the top. Did the initial planing on the surface and outside edges. Rounded corners and top edge.

Taking a rest the aching arms and hands break. Not that typing is being very restful. 🙁

Got the top of the bench laid out, edges of the boards planed to fit fairly tightly and the middle support screwed down. Getting closer…

Finished the yarn/string tree for Cat. Now to modify the bed we used at Auburn into a workbench and then move on to finishing the camper.

Coffee ready so need to finish camper. Festivals/Powwows next 2 weekends that I would like to attend but not vend at & need it for sleeping.

In for more coffee. Working inside/on 10×20 shelter we set up in yard after festival. Got some of the inside bamboo up & need to cut more.

Awoke to sound of tree munching machine on road outside. Have now cut 25 dowels to length and started drilling holes for yarn/string holder.

Took 3+ hours to break things down and pack the truck today. Hoping with the camper that time will be shortened by at least half.

Gonna have to spend 2+ weeks making new product as my supply of necklaces is sorely depleted. Now to get arse in gear and finish the camper.

Home again! 2 very cold nights and 3 long days in the tent. Overall a good festival. Would have liked more people but we did rather well.

Well, with the current rain tis gonna be a bit of a problem to get the truck loaded tonight. 🙁 Guess we’ll have to get up early to do it.

Still feels like we are forgetting tons of stuff. Hoping we aren’t. Also hoping we can get it all in the truck. Need to air the tires…

Just a lot of looks. 😉 Got most of the food stuff (non cold) packed as well as stove and cooking bits and pieces.

Truck is partially packed. Shelter, bed, and several dozen pieces of bamboo are loaded/tied on top. Took a drive to J’ville with no prob.

As close to ready for this mess as I am gonna be. Still got to pack a bunch of stuff. Not to mention getting stuff in from the camper.

Gonna call it an early night as I am worn completely out. Hoping the rain tomorrow waits till late morning to get here. Till later folks…

Will try to get some pictures at the festival. Got little else done today other than moving a couple of tons of junk and cleaning stuff up.

Figure it will be more comfortable and with a couple of sleeping bags, warmer than a tent and sleeping on the ground.

Gonna close off one end of the shelter, roughly 7′ x 10′, and set the bed up there. Using a painters canvas and some blankets as a canopy.

Built a portable (Not real but comes apart easily for transport) bed today to use in Auburn. Decided to do that rather than buy a new tent.

Since we need a bunch of bamboo poles am gonna make a platform of them on the carrier rails on the camper shell and haul stuff up there.

Now to see if everything that we need to take will fit in and on the truck. Ought to be interesting as a lot of it was going in the camper.

Got the ok to camp in the shelter so Auburn is a go! Got the canopy top and enclosure kit for the 10×20 in and put up this afternoon.
