Waiting for verification that we will be allowed to do so…

Gonna try to go to Auburn anyway, just not taking the camper. Will buy a small tent and pitch it in the 10×20 shelter. Or that’s the plan.

Should be finishing up the back wall instead. Some previous owner used pliers on the axle seal shafts. Now have to find repair sleeves. 🙁

Still working on camper. Got all the front wall boards up and cut in the window this morning. Thinking about how to do the trim now.

Gonna take a break, get food, and see if I am going to be able to get back at it this afternoon. Till later folks…

Depression kicking in. 🙁 So much left to do and keep hitting snags with what I am doing. Not sure I will get close enough this week to go.

AND getting the roof on. And bed built. And insulation in. And sidewall skins on. And, and, and…

But still not betting on it. Still got to wire the truck and camper for tail lights. Not to mention getting the arcs cut front and back.

Got one side of the back wall up past the top of side wall. Will start on the other side when I go back out. Think it may get done in time.

Long morning already. Figured out how to use the Kreg system http://t.co/bBLIpp0Q to join some 2×4’s that hard to get affixed otherwise.

Cooking will be Coleman dual fuel one burner stove or charcoal grill and dutch oven. If I do add power it will be a later thing.

Still got the lights and light wiring to put in. Have made no provisions for power. Figure we’ll use battery operated or kerosene lights.

Then I may use it for now and go with painted or stained wood later. Gonna be a lot of “will add or change it later” type stuff on this one.

Haven’t been able to decide on front inside wall covering. Have a roll of burlap that I plan to use on the ceiling and may use it there too.

Back wall is partially framed and have started putting on siding. Quit due to inability to safely see and cut the pencil lines with the saw.

Front wall needs 4 more siding boards to be at the top. Then comes marking the arc and cutting it.

Somewhere around exhausted. Both side walls done inside. Still got outside insulation, canvas and trim to go on them.

More coffee and then back at it…

Stuff like that seems to happen quite often when I build out of what’s in my head rather than following a set plan. 😉

Starting to look like a Vardo/Reading wagon. http://t.co/VjiRBAf5 rather than the Conestoga wagon http://t.co/NBoaUNtE I started building.

Takes a bit longer but much harder to screw it up that way. 🙂 Changed the plans a bit to add a overhand in the front too. Getting closer.

Even though the first board I cut was 1″ too short. 🙁 Cut it off to the support and added a piece. Putting them in place and marking now.

Numbers are close enough. Laid out an arc on scrap and it measures right at the crossover points. Am now half way done with the side.

Well, in the light of morning, the numbers I crunched last night still seem to make sense. So gonna go out and see if they work.

But I’m still gonna mock it up and cut some scrap to test the numbers with prior to cutting the camper. And rebending the EMT arcs.

Going to fix more coffee and see what I can figure out for supper, so till later folks…

Really want to get the remaining side done tonight but tis not looking like the bod is up to it. Have run completely out of energy.

Trimmed the protruding ends of the boards on the side I have almost completed. Only a few more bits to install and then can insulate.

Got the screws and a plastic 10 mil tarp. Forgot to get the foam glue. 🙁 Got the remaining back corner post up and 2 side boards on.

Also added 2 more supports underneath in the front so it’s not sitting on 2 in back and the tongue. Is much more stable now. 🙂

Found one jack stand (were supposed to be at least 3 but the others seem to have wandered off) and used it to level the camper.

Think the coffee is ready. Time for another cup and then back to the sawdust…

Gonna get a plastic tarp to use for the top to waterproof it till I have time to get the canvas on and painted with 3+ coats of exterior.

Kinda reminds me of the time I built the second floor and then built the outside supporting wall to fit the floor. 😉

Gonna start the other side wall and then set the door frame in back to stablize it or I is hoping it will.

Kinda sorta figured out the arc for the top. Got all the inside boards on one side wall put in. Things are getting a bit wobbly in back.

Still have several to put on the front but want to get the sides up to see what the top arc is actually going to be. 6 days to road trip…

Getting closer with the camper. One more board to go on one side then get to start on the other. Sides are going lots faster than the front.

Got a 3rd corner post up on the camper. First side wallboard in place. Came in to get coffee and warm the feet. Sandals again today.

So came back in till the rain is done doing it’s thing. From the map looks like another half hour or so.

Got the last long piece of tongue and groove ready to install and noticed the water running in and flooding the spot I needed to stand in…

Night Of The Little Dead http://t.co/GF1RftN4 Penn Jillette and Adam Savage are wonderfully hammy as fishing town tourists covered in blood.

Taking a short sanity break after miss-cutting 2 pieces of wood in a row. Think I need more coffee…

Going for more coffee and then back at the camper. Till later…

Looks like the shelter canopy and side enclosure kit will be here Monday. Had hoped for Friday but not looking good for that.

Got a few more square feet of the front t&g installed. Got enough for 6 more rows (I think), then change to another type of siding.

Guess if I’m gonna get the camper finished I need to be out working on it, so later folks…

But I CAN walk on the injured foot this morning! Ended the evening with a cane. Think the shoe and/or sock I had on put pressure on a nerve.

11 o’clock and all I’ve managed to do is get one more board on the front and get the wood to be used under cover for the coming rain.

Got a bit more done on the front wall but nowhere near as much as I wanted to get done. Gonna go out after supper and get more caulk.

Now to set front side supports, then I’ll know where the pieces on the back wall will go. 😉

Uprights in place at front of camper. Next set the front support for the bed. That gives the width at that height to figure side wall angle.

Floor is done, or at least enough for use. Now, at long last, to start on the walls. Hope they doesn’t take as long or spill as much blood.

But am getting closer to starting on the walls. I guess that’s a good thing.

3 more pieces of plywood to put down and the floor will be done. And I have to go get more caulk. Already used either 9 or 10 tubes.

More blood spilled from foot injuries. 3rd one today. No power tools involved. Think it just may be time to put on socks and real shoes. 🙁

Going back at it to try to finish the plywood layer of the floor so I can start on the walls.

Previous post “7” was supposed to be “&”. 🙁 That kind of morning…

Guess that’s what I get for no socks and sandals while working on it. Trimmed the toenail 7 the wood and screwed it down (the wood that is).

Cleaned the floor again and while fitting a piece of plywood, it stuck coming out, I pulled too hard and folded a big toenail in half.

Got the front bottom board installed after about an hour of cutting and trimming some strange angles to fit around the tongue and braces.

Time to go stir supper again.

On the camper anyway. Gonna put one of the knockdown tables up, set beads out, and see about getting a bracelet or necklace made in a bit.

Moved the tools and debris from the floor and then swept it off. Shut the power off and called it a night. Too tired to do any more tonight.

Supper started. Me tired. Still hoping/wanting to get the rest of the floor done tonight but tis looking less and less likely.

Lights hung in shelter. Front tarp rehung so it will open. Truck unloaded from Pow-Wow last Sunday so I could find the other bungee balls.

Base layer of floor done! Now for a cup of coffee and then back out to hook up the lights and start on getting the plywood layer down.

Doubt that it all gets done today/tonight. Have till next Thursday when we leave, to get it road worthy, so hopefully will make it.

One of which will have to be ripped length wise to fit the last opening. Then caulk all seams and overlay with sections of plywood.

Then have had to custom fit each board, wedge to get tight, and drill 5+ holes and bolt it down. Rinse and repeat. 3 more to go.

Floor is still not finished. Tis being a real pain. First I ran out of the correct length bolts and had to go get more.

Now to get back on the camper and see if I can get the floor finished before lunch. After more coffee that is. 😉

Ordered the canopy and enclosure kit for our 10×20 shelter frame that I modified yesterday from 6 to 8 legs. Hope the order comes in time.

Got the go-ahead to set up a booth at the upcoming American Indian festival at Auburn University next weekend! So spent more money…

Just figured out how to do it (I think). Gotta go get the sides built up to the point where the top bows go on to see if it will work.

Had planned on using metal for the roof, & canvas for the outside skin on the sides. Now thinking of using painted canvas for the roof.

Am now trying to figure out how to build the rest of it now. Was going one direction and overnight am thinking of doing it another way.

Working on the camper again today. Got the other fender, lower sidewall, and bottom extension in place yesterday.
