Chapter 4: Read Excerpts from the New Science Fiction Book Variable Star by Robert Heinlein and Spider Robinson
Sunday, September 3rd, 2006Chapter 4 is out! Getting better all the time. Something in the flavor makes me wonder if this was written/started around the time of The Door Into Summer?
Chapter 5 due Sept 7. Can’t wait!

I’ve read about Dan Price before but there is a lot more available now. Lynette Chlang has written an article on meeting him and visiting his place in the woods. Good stuff and sound like really good people.

Where Babies Come From in Germany
Thursday, August 31st, 2006Where Babies Come From in Germany
This seems to be a childrens book that has been scanned and put online. Shows just what the title says. Actually not limited to Germany. Probably not safe for work and most of the tight assed folks I know around here wouldn’t let their kids see it either but is an interesting look at another (non US of A) culture.

I know it has been posted elsewhere (everywhere) but I figured I would jump on the byte wagon and list this one too. Glad to see it. Now if they would link up with and/or help fund Project Gutenberg I’d be a lot happier with them about this.

THE MACHINE STOPS … E.M. Forster
Sunday, August 27th, 2006THE MACHINE STOPS … E.M. Forster
Sci-fi story from 1909 that is the earliest known (to me) predictor of email/IMs and a world wide machine. Well worth the read.
