For those interested in trying Elive 1.0 but unwilling or unable to send a donation to pay for the right to go to the download page, a torrent is available via the link above. Remember to keep seeding after you finish the download. Enjoy!
Update – This is an older copy that has some problems and a different md5 sum from the current version. I am still looking for a good copy to try out…

But it’s NOT truly free if it REQUIRES a donation to be able to get to the download page. Don’t care what the article states, the author of the article needs to change it to reflect that a donation is required to get to the download page of the iso. And I’m not gonna pay for a linux distro that I can’t try first.

Trying this as my new feed reader. Good interface but a few small glitches now and then. Restarting the application seems to clear the problems up. Biggest complaint is that the scroll bar on the feed articles area in the upper right box disappears at random. Or seems to be at random. Will keep on using it for a while and see how it goes as otherwise I like.
Groklaw – Novell SJ Hearing Transcript – May 31, 2007 as text
I have tried to read the arguments, really I have, but the “logic” that they are using is “not” logical at least to me. I don’t think. Then again it may be that my brain just exploded in trying to follow this crap that SCO’s lawyers are dishing out.
It seems that they are saying that if they had won the case in 2003 that SCO would have still been making money and now they want Novel and Linux (all the distros I think) to pay them back the money that they would have made along with damages. And they want the judge to award them this whether they own the unix patents or not. Or something. But I ain’t sure.
Good luck if you follow the link and try to read this crap.

Interesting distro. Will have to dl it and see how well it compares to some of the other small distros.
Looks like the Philippines are on the road to computer freedom. And are using my favorite Linux distro, PCLOS according to the article. Great to hear!
