Supertelevangelistic Sex-and-Drugs Psychosis :: Accordion Guy

Laugh out loud funny! Thanks for the link Joey!

Lyrics:

Here are the lyrics — feel free to sing along!

I used to be a master of the anti-gay crusade
Until a butch disaster blew my pastor masquerade
But if it’s true I’m pounding more than pulpits, don’t blame me
It’s ’cause I caught my hooker-tweaker-stud’s infirmity

It’s
Supertelevangelistic sex-and-drugs psychosis
Worse than plague and bird flu crossed with osteoporosis
We were playing doctor and he gave this diagnosis:
Supertelevangelistic sex-and-drugs psychosis

Umm Haggard Bakker Swaggart umm Tammy Faye
Umm Haggard Bakker Swaggart umm Tammy Faye

I found the perfect therapist – the kind that gives massage
I like to drive my Escort and I park in his garage
I swear he only serves me crank when all his Coke is gone
And then he helps me straighten out my Peter, James, and John

Blame
Supertelevangelistic sex-and-drugs psychosis
That’s my greatest guilty pleasure next to Guns N’ Roses
Good thing there’s no ban on it in all the books of Moses
Supertelevangelistic sex-and-drugs psychosis

Umm Haggard Bakker Swaggart umm Tammy Faye
Umm Haggard Bakker Swaggart umm Tammy Faye

It seems all pious public figures bugger on the sly
But Jesus loved republicans and sinners; so must I
Say “Holy moley, Mister Foley! That boy’s underage!”
But I believe the congressman has turned another page

Oh!
Supertelevangelistic sex-and-drugs psychosis
Next time, better cut me off at handshakes and Mimosas
No more meth or men for me – at least in overdoses!
Supertelevangelistic sex-and-drugs psychosis!

(Just a spoonful of crystal helps the prostitute go down…)

Boing Boing: Universal Music CEO: iPod owners are thieves
“These devices are just repositories for stolen music, and they all know it,” UMG chairman/CEO Doug Morris says. “So it’s time to get paid for it.”

Pot/Kettle Kettle/Pot.  And how much of this extortion money will the artists actually see, Dougie???

The Swank Pad

Interesting stuff on the site but that isn’t the reason for the post. In the upper left hand corner there is the Hi-Fi button to push to listen to the radio feed. So being into some of this kind of music I try it. It takes me to Live365. Which says that the feed is only available to VIP users. This is not the first site I have gone to lately that uses Live365 and who knows it may be reasonable enough to try for a month. So I decide to see how much this radio thingie is. Go to the join now page and see that the payments are $5.95 a month or less depending on how long you are willing to, untried, commit to. Then I go and look at the TOS. Which are posted below in all it’s splender. I especially like section 8 where you have to send them written notice to cancel the service. After reading this CRAP I think I will PASS even though there are several stations that are only on this service that I would like to listen to. But not enough to put up with this kind of gargage agreement:

UNEASYsilence » Zack Kim – Super Mario on two guitars

This is amazing!  Guy plays two guitars at the same time.  Got one of them them clamped/mounted on a stand and the other on a strap around his neck, one hand on each, plays them together and does some interesting picking.  Go to his website for some other fantastic stuff!

Elderly Instruments – Dopyera Collection – Introduction
The John and Rudy Dopyera Collection

We are very proud to offer for sale the combined collection of John and Rudy Dopyera. Few instrument makers represent the American Dream quite as completely as these two inventors, innovators, marketers, and all-around creative force behind both the National and Dobro companies.

The Dopyera brothers were born in what is now Slovakia, and came to the U.S. with the wave of Eastern European immigrants around the beginning of the 20th century. (In fact, the word “Dobro” is both a contraction of “DOpyera BROthers” and the word for “good” in their native tongue.) Engineers, tinkerers, businessmen, and accomplished musicians (their family had a history of violin making going back centuries, and Rudy was by many accounts an exceptionally talented and soulful Gypsy-style violinist), the two Dopyera brothers combined their Old World skills and traditions with the booming technology and futuristic tastes in art of pre-WWII America. Who else thought that spun aluminum might be a good material for sound projection? Who else engraved beautiful Art Deco designs on the bodies of their guitars? Only the Dopyeras.

The unusual, experimental, and mostly one-of-a-kind instruments in this collection – John’s unusual (and spectacular sounding!) resophonic violin, Rudy’s balalaika-inspired Lullabyka, the Art Deco-influenced steel body uke and tenor guitar, even the actual workbench on which John perfected the fabled tri-cone resonator system – are uniquely American (and uniquely Dopyera) innovations.

There’s no doubt that many of the great blues and slide guitar players owe their careers to these radical innovations of the Dopyeras; and there’s no question that both country and bluegrass music developed a whole new voice after the introduction of the Dobro. Because of the Dopyera brothers, American instruments – and American music – have never been the same.

Some seriously cool instruments!   Interesting guitar vise and workbench too.  Wonderful stuff!

Boing Boing: Microsoft Zune won’t play purchased Microsoft media files

Not only Viral DRM but won’t play their own files. Now this is just REAL STUPID!  Is SCO running the R&D department for Micro$loth now?

So they not only introduced a new av player but Viral DRM at the same time.  Total stupidity.  But it IS Micro$loth… 🙁

WWdN: In Exile: iTunes 7 ate all my purchased music. Awesome.

Will is experiencing the JOY of DRM from Apple computer’s totally awsome(ly bad) iTunes store.  Did a sync and now all of his play lists are gone.  Poof!  No more.  You just got to hate it when that happens and after dumping quite a few bucks into it have nothing left but a bad taste in your mouth.

I don’t own an iPod but do have two iBooks.  However, when Apple started down the DRM path to total control, I quit updating my OS X’s and am waiting for Ubuntu to fix a couple of more things and then will wipe the DRM laden OS X from at least my iBook.  Cat may still use hers but then she still uses Winblows XP too.  Which I refuse to work on in either sense of the word.

I really do hope Will gets his music back, though according to Apple and Mircosloth the music they sell is not yours but only a rental.

Just remember, there is a LOT of FreeOpenSourceSoftware out there that doesn’t call you a crook and say NO if you want to play music on more than (insert # here)  authorized computers/devices.  And I don’t get pissed off at it near as much as I used to when using either Microsloth or Apple products… 😉

Boing Boing: EMI wants millions and your IP address in revenge for Beachles

A damn good reason to boycott EMI!  Asshats!

Wonder if anyone has boycottemi.com yet? Yep, looks like EMI owns it. They also own boycott-emi.com, boycottemi.org, boycott-emi.org but boycott-emi.net and boycottemi.net are both open should someone want to go at them.

a cardboard box upright bass | BlogCadre

This is truly a homemade upright bass. Neck is a board, strings are weed whacker cord, tuning knobs are faucit handles, body is a cardboard box, and pickup is a RadioShack piezo buzzer with the body removed. And it sounds pretty good judging from the audio from the video. Good stuff!
