Love wood heat but this kind of thing is best done in the spring or fall when the outside temp is where the house can be wide open.

So tis getting quite cool in here but the air is not smelling as toxic as it was a minute ago. Flue temp is back to about 350 and dropping.

Think the flue is as hot as I ever want to get it so cut the dampers down. Opened the front door and Cat has putting the fan in the window.

Soup is on and close to boiling already. Flue temp is approaching 400 degrees F and stink is starting to subside. Or my nose is striking.

stink so bad. Need to get a pot of soup started. Gonna go and dig out some veggies and such from the freezer. Back in a bit.

Ah, starting to smell it now and it’s only up to 200 degrees. 🙁 Wish they would use the 1200 degree paint on the stuff so it wouldn’t

Waiting for the inside piece to start smoking and burn off the paint so I can get good and sick and open doors and windows and freeze.

Back from the store where the threat of minor amounts of snow had driven folks crazy. Got the flue pipe and got both pieces installed.

With the snow predicted tomorrow am going to get milk as well as a couple of new sections of 8″ flue pipe. Back in a bit.

May have too much oil in them but will just have to wait and see. Hopefully they won’t catch fire… 😉

Look better and are much tighter. Will have to see how well they last compared to the oak I used last time.

Cut it into two 6 inch pieces, bored 1/2 inch holes into one end of each piece and put the new handles on the woodburner doors.

Just moved the shaving horse to where I could use it. Dug a piece of cedar from the pile of firewood, shaved it down to somewhat round.

Epic Kludge http://thereifixedit.com/2010/01/06/vacuum-sealed-rotisserie-chicken/ #humor With a perfectly balanced chicken maybe. LOL!

But now I want more coffee.
