Second load of shelving going north. Truck is sagging a bit but should make if if we can go slow over bumps. 🙂 Back later…

Just remembered I wanted to take the hand trucks. Not sure if I can fit them in. Whatever. Till later folks…

Got a truck LOAD of shelving, pieces, pegboard, boxes of product ,and assorted tools. And most likely have forgotten a lot of stuff.

Got the rest of the shelving down in the qhut. Tis loaded in the truck. Now to go to the storage trailer and see what I can get down/loaded.

Sunny Sunday morn. Coffee starting to wake me up and get me going. Hoping to get at least one run of shelving up today. Will see.

Tried to work in the qhut but tis too cold in there tonight. Will do that in the morning prior to loading shelving and going north.

Though still far from being a happy camper. Think I will go in the qhut and finish taking the shelves down while supper cooks.

Fire going. Wood for the evening in. Noodle and egg mix in roaster cooking for supper. Am somewhat more calmed down than earlier.

Guess I need to get wood in and start the heater going. Then see about food for supper. Back in a bit…

Get back to find that the check that was cut with the pay to wrong can’t be recut till the 10 of next month. Which pisses me off even more.

Drove down the road then went back and got a refund. I told them that if they wouldn’t take a check, we just wouldn’t shop there.

And Food Land in Alexandria being a ass and refusing to take a check even though they always have before. We paid cash and left.

Back after a long mostly bad trip. The bad bits were the bank not taking a check cause I don’t have a busness account.

Headed to Calcis to make desk/shelving delivery and installation. Back asap.

Been a day. Looks like tomorrow will be an on the road one. Gotta make a trip to Calcis with a load of stuff, so till later folks… 😉

Keeps dimming the lights and kicking the ups. Got WAY too much running on extension cords… 🙁

Going to set up some color business cards and see how they look. Gonna have to run a new power line to the work area due to it though.

Is out of the black. Black cartage is less than $50 with free shipping. Unit looks new and prints good.

Picked up a Samsung CLP-315 color laser printer for $3 at the Alexandria thrift store. Hooked it up and it works! Has 54% color toners.

Did the thrift store run to see about a entertainment console but the ones they had were either too messed up or expensive or both.

fix it rather than replacing it with a $8 + part with only a few weeks of use needed this heating season.

Went up the ladder a few minutes before dark to replace the connector. Found the old one had a bad rivet so am gonna try to use a screw and

Then may go out and look for used/thrift store units. Lunch is ready so back later…

Fixing to eat lunch then take the flue down and replace the rusted out connector and put it back together. Or that’s the plan.

Back from getting a new connector for the flue, and running around hunting a decent entertainment console. Still looking for that.

Have about decided to mostly take the day off. Hands, wrists, and arms are not happy with me so guess I need to at least slow down today.

Without them we have to move everything several hundred feet inside the PDM building which is not bad for boxes but the shelf parts = pain.

Or that’s the current plan. Still got a lot of stuff to box and shelves to tear down and move. Kinda waiting for the door keys.

Am up and not quite as sore as I thought I’d be. Need to get some more wood cut and as the rain/snow didn’t get to us will do that.

Type at yall in the morning. If I can move the digits that is… 😉

Have taken stuff for aches and pains. Still waiting for it to take effect. Think I will go on to bed and hope it will work its magic soon.

@ScionBoo Thanks for the heads up yesterday. Went and filled up then and still got the weekend prices. Today they were up 5 to 12 cents.

Guess we got somewhere around 2 face cords or maybe 2/3 of a full cord. Was hoping to get a full cord today but with the cold and rocks. 🙁

After getting the tractor cranked, trailer unloaded, chainsaw and tools loaded. Would rather not do any of it but with the cold coming…

WW trip done, stuff returned, and cash received. Piedmont visited and truckload of boxes dropped off. Now to change shoes and cut firewood.

Gonna eat lunch, then make a run to WW to return some stuff, and then take this load to Piedmont. Hoping to get the shelves up there soon.

Another truck load boxed up, loaded and ready to roll. Still lots more to box before the shelves in the qhut can come down.

Now to finish cleaning the shelves in the front off and loading the truck. After just one more cup of coffee…

Rotated drum a couple of times and got the belt seated then screwed the front in place and tried it. Works as it did but much quieter. 🙂

Came back and with much grunting and other old man sounds got down in floor and replaced it. Got the drum back in place and front on.

Still feeling like crap but been doing anyway. Took the drier apart. Removed rollers and tensioner and lubed everything. Went and got belt.

So far coffee is NOT helping any… 🙁

Feel like crap this morning. Need to go take a load to Piedmont though. Will see how I feel after breakfast.

What doesn’t go to the Piedmont store or to the recycle center’s gonna get burned or buried. Clearing the trailer out and selling it.

Still lots of stuff to clear off the shelves but I think we can pile it somewhere in there till the shelves come down.

Paperback books off shelves in main hall and all boxed up. About half of the Readers Digests that we used for spacers boxed.

Think I’ll unload a couple more boxes here and take the rest across to the storage trailer where the rest of the shelving needs unloading.

Another box and a piece filled. Taking a short break before I break something. Thinking I need to think about a lie down.

Getting closer, but there’s no way the boxes we have are gonna come even close to holding the books we need to put in them.

Hoping there’s enough to get the rest of the shelves in front cleared off. Will see. Fixing to go and get started on that bit here soon.

Which is where the computer repair department will be. Cat loaded the back of the truck with banana boxes which we’ll use to box books.

Long day so far, and little accomplished. Got the rest of the grid wall up in the first room. Put up pegboard in the 3rd room.

Will see how the energy holds out. Right now am wanting to crawl back in bed and call it a day. More later…

Will unload, put up some more grid wall and then come back for shelving. Hope to make another load and get at least one wall of shelves up.

Truck loaded, drizzle started. 🙁 Food gobbled and last cup of coffee going down now. Heading out in a few to take a load up.

Tis morning a bit earlier than usual. Fixing to start loading the truck for another run to Piedmont. Back later…

May get them down yet. And if not there’s always tomorrow… 😉

Too much breakage otherwise. Have cleared out some of the book alcoves and am gonna fill them up with the stuff on the shelves not going.

Tonight anyway. Think we have a truck load one level deep and with this being mostly glass tis about all I want to try to haul.

Supper and candy tasting done. Most of the candy was really nasty. 🙁 Have done about as much shelf unloading tonight as will get done.

Slowly, slowly, eats the elephant. Got several totes and banana boxes filled and still got much more to move out to get the shelves down.

Need to unload and reload the truck tonight to head to Piedmont early in the morning to get started on putting things together up there.

Need to get an entertainment console and at least one more set of shelves and go back down there. But not happening today.

Back from Calcis. Much later than I had planned or wanted to be. But got the shelves up and at least some of the stuff out of the floor.

Got more shelving we bought last night to put up to try to clear up the living area and kitchen a bit. Hope this will be enough but…

Tis morning. And with coffee. Food cooking. Woodstove heating the place up. Looks like a trip to Calcis again today.

Tis early but twas a long day and I am beat. Gonna call it an early night and see what we can get done in the morning. Till tomorrow folks.

Think I will put off doing any more boxing of stuff till after taking the boxes that are in there out. Then we’ll have a bit more room.

Cooking supper and still procrastinating on boxing the stuff on the shelves. Need to get it done, just not up to doing it right now.

Got one box packed last night and didn’t make a dent in them. Need to clear the entire east wall shelf and move it to Piedmont.

Am back at the homestead. Trying to decide if I feel up to starting to pack up more glassware and other stuff off the shelves in the qhut.

Suspect that both hard drives are bad at this point. Guess I need to start backing the Backup Drive to DVDs this evening.

Looks like a trip to Calcis is in order today. Coffee is done and being drunk. Food is cooked and cooling. Computers are still grinding.

Just did a force quit on Cat’s iBook. Gonna restart TechTool Deluxe and try it again. Have done the same on Disk Utility with good results.

Thinking about trimming the beard. Or then again not.

Had a connector (male to male) rust out. About a year old. Some of that really good stuff that Lowe’s sells. 🙁

the top connection came loose about 12 feet up the tower. So ended up the ladder and jury rigged the stack back in place.

Got the fire started and then it wasn’t drawing quite right. Decided to clean the flue. After doing so went to put it back in place and

Just turned off the onboard intel audio on the linux box and put in a SoundBlaster board. And Skype now works right. For a change. 😉

Quite chill in here this morning. Fire has been being stubborn all night. Guess I need to sweep the flue again. Will do that after while.

But it’s still going. So am letting it run. Am gonna start looking for another drive asap.

But toward the end of the sectors slowed and is crunch a sector between 5 and 30 minutes each now. Been doing it at this speed all night.

TechTool Deluxe is still slogging away on the internal drive. Seems to be a large section that’s bad as it ran fast for a long time.

After restarting and clearing history its running fairly fast again. Think it had gotten clogged. Telling me 8 minutes but it LIES!

Tis morning again and the laptop repairs are still going. 🙁 I stopped disk utility on the external drive as it had slowed to a crawl.

So figure on sometime tomorrow morning if lucky. For now am gonna go and throw some more wood on the fire, then a bit more browsing and bed.

The backup drive is showing 8 hours till done. The internal is not showing a time but is most likely gonna be about the same.

Got home a while back. Been catching up on the world. Repairs still going on both hard drives on the iBooks.

Lunch is done. Repair on both machines still going. Heading to Piedmont to look things over. Back when we gets here.

Hard drive repair in progress now. Lunch is close, so back later.

Back home for lunch. Backup drive now saying an hour and a minute. Looks to be about half way through. TTD says Cat’s iBook hardware ok.

Back from Cable co. Stopped by the Restore and their prices have gone through the roof. Made a stop at the Salvation Army, new + prices.

One of the side trips I was talking about earlier. Would be nice other than the daily trip time. Will know more when we get back.

If things work out as I think they will, looks like we are gonna be moving the antique glass and flea market stuff to a store in Piedmont.

So now gonna poke the fire one more time and get a shower prior to heading out for that as well as other side trips.

Had a guy come by and pick up several computers that I had gotten going for him so we are soon on the way to pay overdue cable bill.

TT Deluxe is on task 4 of 7 on the other iBook. Showing the hardware so far is ok. May just be a HD problem. As it’s the original drive…

Backup disk is still under repair. Saying (and been saying for an hour) that there is 29 minutes left in the repair.

Found the old TechTool Deluxe disk and am booting from it now. Disk Utility is STILL repairing the permissions on the backup drive. 🙁

Now to go dig the boot disks out and see if there is any hope there.

Something wrong with my backup disk. Will not boot my iBook either. 🙁 Having one of those weeks.

Yea, it’s morning. Coffee is perking (I hope by now). Mail has STILL not run since Thursday. Starting to get REAL pissed at the Weaver PO.

SuperDuper says it only took 4+ hours to get all the files backed up and stuff done. Now to see if it will boot my iBook, then to the other.

Or we have had nothing come in the mail in the last 5+ days, which is very unusual. Gonna go check again and then take a walk. Back later.

Wondering if the Post Office has quit running out here. Usually get delivery in the morning around 10 at the latest. Checked @ 3 still nada.

Just have to find it. Would be nice out of the box/on the liveCD though.

But with Puppy Linux 4.3.1 I can not only mount drives/volumes but edit files with ease. Suspect there is a way to do it with this os too.

So far the only problem with PC/OS is the inability to mount the existing hard drives/volumes on the computer. I know, security. 🙁

Think I will dig up another old HD and install it to try from there. Uses Google Chrome for the browser and I’d prefer Firefox.

Trying out PC/OS Webstation 10. So far I quite like it. Has Skype built in. Runs rather snappy from the LiveCD too.

Another morning. Would rather crawl back in bed and forget the day. However, got coffee perking so things will look better soon…

Will most certainly make something similar in the future. And, yes, it was a quince, of some form or another.

Actually tasted better. Twas (and will be) excellent. Made a #8 skillet full and cut it into 4 pieces. We each had one, so theres 2 left.

Guess it’s a sudo quince. Or ??? Hope it tastes as good as it smells.

Last nights oriental stir fry with added sausage and faux crab meat mixed with 6 eggs and some cheese, baking in the roaster for supper.

Actually more than 5 pounds for the pair. Just checked and each one weighs in at 2 3/4 lbs!

MMMMMMUCH better with the boots off. They keep my feet warm but with the steel toes and sole lining they are extremely heavy.

Sitting down, catching up. So far have seen nothing earth shaking since we left out. Need to get these 5 lb boots off and supper started.

Just back, unloaded and stuff put up, wood heater shoveled out, firewood loaded in for the night, and fire restarted.

Back from what started to be a run to Wally World that turned into a trip to Lowe’s and then back home to unload and THEN a run to WW.

Need to get out and put up the cross fence in front and then post signs that state “The scrap is NOT for sale/No you can NOT have it”…

Just had someone else stop and ask if I wanted to get rid of scrap. When I said no he ask who owned the trailer next door. Which is me…

I HAD changed the password a while back and was going to change it again but failed to. So problem was user rather than Skype. 🙁

Wondering if my Skype password has been changed or if their login servers are down. Am logged in on the iBook but can’t log in on Linux.

But looks like it took me about 15 minutes to get it going again, which is better than having to buy a new one. Or is to me… 😉

Cleaned them all with an eraser and put it back together and tis all fine again. Or as close to fine as a old keyboard will ever be… 🙂

Well lets see if it works now. 1234567890() Yep looks like it was a dirty contact between the keyboard membrane and the control board.

Not sure what happened to the other one. Just quit. Gonna take it apart in a bit and see if I can find the problem.

So lets try this keyboard. 1234567890() Yep seems to be working. Fangled tingers and all.

to what it was before so I had mouse control again. Guess that wasn’t the right stuff to put in there. Gonna have to trash the keyboard.

Also since earlier tweets, managed to screw up Kubuntu to the point I had to get out the Puppy Linux disk, boot into it and edit a file back

But it seems that since I used it last the number keys across the top have mostly quit working. Keypad is still functional. Need new one.

Guess if nothing else need to start thinking about what to do for lunch. Or I could just sit here for a bit longer…

Need to be doing so many things and have run out of energy. Found myself sitting here clicking between tabs to see what was happening.

So ended up on a still snow slick roof in rubber boots doing it. Maybe will learn one of these days to do things when I first note them…

Or maybe past time. Saw the leaves in them a while back when on the roof and meant to do it then but some shiny object got in the way.

Just back in. Been cleaning the gutters on the north side of the trailer. Noticed water dripping from the joints and realized it was time.

Tis morning earlier than I wanted. Got the fire rebuilt and coffee perking. Need to move the woodpile prior to the next snow tonight.

Think I have had all the fun I can stand. Gonna call it a night. Till the morrow, folks… 😉

Kinda strange being back on Firefox and a large monitor after a month or more on the iBook and Safari. But am getting used to it again. 😉

Got the computer desk and Linux box moved and set back up. Still doing updates on the os but tis running (and am posting from it).

And to Steve. Yes, to comment on a tweet you must have to have a Twitter account. Which is easy to get and lets you blather to folks too.

Gonna see if I have more ram and try to get the other 400 mhz machine going with Puppy. Looks to be the best choice for low speed/power.

After getting it installed and going to shut it down found that there is a problem with the power switch and it keeps turning back on.

Ended up installing Puppy Linux on one of the 400 mhz machines. Even with 190+ ram Youtube won’t run right but it does run.

And just found that there are 2 MORE critical updates to the update I just installed on the 2 updates, on the update… 🙁

What is MicroSloths problem? Installed a .net update. Then had 2 critical updates to that. Then a critical update to the updates. STUPID!!!

Gonna give SliTaz http://www.slitaz.org/en/ a try. Just finished downloading and burning it. Now if Windoze update will finish I’ll try it.

Trying to find a Linux distro that will run decent on a 400 mhz 64mb ram machine.

Doing the update thing on yet another Windoze 2K machine. Guess I should download all that crap and burn it to disk.

May see about putting DSL or some like Linux on them just for giggles. Other one is a 1.8 ghz w 256 mb ram and a 20 gb hd. Formatting now.

Turns out 2 of the 4 machines are 400 mhz w 64 mb ram n 3 gb hd. Just don’t see that they are worth doing anything with. 🙁

At least the melting part is. BIG chunks keep falling and hitting the metal roof. Not to mention all the water melting out and dripping…

Damn, this snow is NOISY!

As I have 3 more WinDoze machines to do, figured I’d just download it all one time and make a disk rather than downloading it for each one.

Still installing on the WinDoze machine. Getting and doing updates now. Burning a OOo, Avast antivirus, and SuperAntiSpyWare disk on iBook.

Far too much ice on the hilly road I suspect.

In other words nature is being noisy out there. But very few car type sounds. Some on the Alex/Jax highway but few on Cedar Springs.

BTW, tis morning, with snow on the ground and in the trees and everywhere, and coffee. Roofs are dripping. Trees are shedding blobs.

Just too much cruft left to bother taking the time to try to remove. Win2K is formatting the hd now. And it’s making a LOT less noise.

Real heavy large flakes here north west of Weaver, with 2 measured inches on boards out back. Have now cleared the carport roofs 6 times.

@ScionBoo Was just wondering if yall had any snow down there yet. Just measured here and now have 2 inches on boards out back.

Removed the snow from the buildings again. Getting quite a pile at the side. Snow is getting heaver again, but temp is up to 33.3.

Hoping it will start falling off by it’s self. Hit a milestone with this tweet at # 1000! Guess that means I am blathering too much… 😉

Have cleaned the temp carport roofs 3 times now. About once every 45 minutes it seems like. Snow is much smaller and harder now.

Snow not as deep as I thought. Just measured on hard surface and is 3/4 + inch. Lotta drifts much deeper. Temp has dropped to 32.7F

Cleared off the top of the temp carports with tarp side room twice already and need to do it again soon. An inch + on the ground already.

@spann Wet heavy snow now falling north west of Weaver. Temp has dropped from 36 to 34.5 in the last 15 minutes. #alwx

Still no snow here in the outskirts of Weaver, AL. Radar is showing it but suspect it’s virga at this point as the air is dry.

Tis coffee so must be morning. Very gray out but no snow as of yet. At least not here. Radar showing stuff all around but no white here.

And if not there’s plenty of fuel for the chain saw. For now am gonna call it a night, so till tomorrow folks… 😉

Will believe it when I see it, though looks like Texas got hard hit today. Think we have enough wood for a few extra cold days.

Looks like we’re in for some snow after all. Supposed to get here somewhere after 6 am and last for 8 + hours. 1 to 4 inch accumulation.

Food consumed. Feeling better but less inclined to go back into the cold to do anything that can wait till tomorrow. Or the next day.

Much warmer now. Food heating in microwave. Wondering about going back out after supper to finish frame. Will decide when we get through.

Still got to finish unloading, cutting and splitting the firewood. Tractor put up. Trying to find the initiative to get back up and do it.

Back in after a session on the tractor, pulling metal posts, collecting scrap, and cutting firewood. So much to do, so little energy…

Update of OOo was a success! Wizard is now working AND I’ve gotten a much later version of the software.

Version of OOo that I had (3.0.1 PPC) kept freezing on Base Wizard, so downloading a newer version to try again. Keeping fingers crossed.

Fire being stubborn about getting going n warming place up this morning. Coffee starting to do its job. Eyes almost open and tracking now.

Tis morning once again. Sucker comes too early some days. Or I was up too late. Coffee almost ready.

Gonna watch a bit more of the 1948 Superman and then read a bit. Till later, folks.

Went to the folks for a bit, then WW for stuff and back home. Unloaded, put up, rebuilt fire, fed felines, browsed, did supper, now resting.

Lunch was good. Cornbread turned out ok. Not great but certainly eatable. Soup was quite tasty. Suspect the frogs will bark tonight. 😉

Cornbread came out of the oven just now and looks/cuts like it should. Small taste I took is good. Will see when it cools a bit.

Soup is cooling. Cornbread is cooking. Didn’t have any eggs so used mayo instead. Hoping it’s eatable.

Well just got Google Buzz. Not at all sure I’m interested in it but will give it a try. Doesn’t look like it integrates well with others.

Need to be up/out doing things but am just not up to it yet. Still in recovery mode from the work I think.

Smell is driving the yard cats crazy. Suspect it’s the bacon. They’re clustered around, sniffing toward the door, and making pitiful noises.

Both of which should cook in about 30 minutes or less. Hoping by 1 pm cdt we have soup.

Carrots, celery, onions, bacon all added to assorted mixed beans. When veggies are cooked gonna add split peas and lentils.

Carrots and celery waiting to be chopped and added. Hoping its ready to eat at lunch. Smell of cooking bacon is making gut rumble.

Bean soup warming on woodburner. Bacon frying to be added. Onions chopped waiting to be cooked in bacon grease. Coffee being consumed.

Think I have had all of the day that I can handle. Gonna go up and read a bit and then call it a night, so till tomorrow, folks…

Feeling some better after a short nap. Been reading and browsing since getting back up. Been a not much done day but guess I needed it.

Cooking supper. Or rather finished cooking and letting things cool/thicken for a few minutes before serving.

Am feeling the need for a nap or at least a short laydown. Will be back later folks…

Sign is up. Drizzle is getting harder. Wondering what to do for lunch. Most likely soup and sandwich but not sure yet.

Google Notify is now working with Safari. Not sure why it wouldn’t the other day or why it started but glad I can mail links again.

Can almost move without screaming now. Rain has slowed to a drizzle. Heading across to put up a No Trespassing sign on new corner post.

Ibuprofen consumed. Hopefully relief will follow soon.

Tis a wet chill day out there. Once I can move the extremities freely again will get to doing things inside. Coffee is helping, abet slowly.

Supper is now history. And I am still tired. Or maybe a bit more so than before fixing supper. Ham, sausage, and shrimp egg foo yang.
