Got the strike side pivots and one more bushing left to do. Tired of standing in the cold at the lathe polishing pivots so taking a break.

Went ahead and put the time side together when I got all the wheels for it done. Tis hanging on the wall and ticking away now!

Both springs taken down, checked, put back on, and rewound. Figure another 2 to 3 hours and it should be back together and running.

Have polished the pivots on 3 of the wheels so far, and have 5 or 6 more to go. One pivot replaced with 2 more to do.

So I’m fixing it. Took the wheel apart and cleaned the cut teeth up and added a shim to move the bad area out of line with the other wheel.

So the guy with the Korean clock didn’t want it fixed and gave it to me. Got to looking at it and decided to gain even more experience.

Guess I need to call the guy and tell him the good news.

One of the wheels wore the bushing to the point it allowed the teeth to unmesh and then acted like a sawblade on the mating teeth.

As I suspected this Korean clock is not worth the repair. Very poor finishing procedures in the factory. They did no polishing on pivots.

Got a Korean clock torn down and in the ultrasonic now. Not sure it’s worth the time but I guess the experience counts for something.

Sounds of clocks ticking and the buzz of the ultrasonic are almost drowning out the rain and wind.
