Quite a nice cookbook.  Lot of stuff I have never seen before and some that I have but done differently.  A new bookmark for me.

Techdirt: Wal-Mart Looking To Take Spying On Shoppers To The Next Level

You gotta give them credit for trying to get all of the customers business and money.  But I like small and local, not big and international so I try real hard to find another source for all the things we need rather than deal with these folks.

Architectural Wind: Clean Energy, Birds Like It, Too – Gizmodo

I like!  The design and the concept are both excelent.   What limited specs are given look good too.  Wonder what the lifespan is?  Is it designed to be easily onsite repairable or at least component replaceable?  What’s the cost?  Does it come with a syncronus (sp?) inverter?  AC or DC? Tomato or Tomoto? 😉

Wired 14.10: START How To: Dismantle an Atomic Bomb

Wonder what the author has been smoking.  That may be the way he would do it but something seems to be lacking in the way of common sense safety precautions.  Especially the bit about handling the plutonium without gloves if necessary.  I checked and this is not the first of April so are we having another fools day in the fall now?

FastMHz.com :: View topic – Induction Launchers & EM Rocketry

Interesting launching of rocket videos on the site.  Neat stuff!  As a point of safety though I think I would clamp or bolt the launching coil down.  The way it keeps landing on top of the capacitor bank and transformer/coil/whatever would worry me just a bit… 😉

God ‘intends for us to have great sex,’ minister says

Well, I’ll believe that before I’ll believe that he wants us to all be rich and drive big fancy cars like so many of the church in a box preachers preach.

long day done

After fighting through 236 different shipping contrbutions several times and spending way too much time in the forums I came to the conclusion that the easiest way to set the shipping was to lie about the weight and fake it.  So I did and it works.  I don’t like it but it works, so out the door with it.

Gonna work with zen cart for a while and see how it works out.  Tried several of the others and none works out of the box.  Found this site the other night and like the way he has it set up.  Looks workable.

Spent most of the day cleaning up detereating plastic off the greenhouse and trying to get the place closer to ready for winter.  Got 12 feet of the south side of the 12×60 underpened with steel.  Cat got a lot of the stuff from around the greenhouse cleaned up.  Gonna put old tin on most of the walls.  Tired of replacing plastic every year.  Not good for the enviroment nor my pocket.  So will put up metal and as many windows as I can get put in.  Plants will either live or die and at this point I ain’t real concerned either way.

Now the customer wants more shipping changes.  Way it goes.  Back to the drawing board…

Automotive addictions and general tomfoolery: Accessory turn signals of the 20’s and 30’s

Some of theses I have seen. Some only heard of and others are new/real old. Love the skull!

Skull stop signal

Update: Just sitting here and noticed that this is (on my monitor anyway) larger than life.    Looks from measuring a dime that the one in the picture measures 3/4 inch and a real dime is 11/16 so the skull is about 2 3/4 inches wide and maybe 4 inches tall.  The word “STOP” looks to have letters about a half of an inch high. Gonna notice that from a distance. Right…
