Jacksonville Alabama July 3rd 2008 Fireworks Display

Friday, July 4th, 2008

These are the best pictures of the lot of 80 or so that I took. Cat also got a batch which I’ll get and upload soon. These were taken from our ringside seats in the old Edward’s pecan orchard which is about a quarter mile to the north of the college baseball field where the fireworks were launched from. Pictures are below the fold. Enjoy.

The Secret Museum of Mankind

The Secret Museum of Mankind

Probably not safe for work as “here there be tits”, but please note that we are talking “National Geographic” type tits, and not “girl’s gone wild” tits, so whatever/whichever you have been warned.

Weird stuff. Lots of pics that I have never seen before, and some that I didn’t want to see at all  but overall an interesting site from a historical (hysterical???) prospective.

Del and Jelly Bean visit Weaver

Tuesday, December 4th, 2007

Del stopped by on his way to Tampa with his teardrop camper, to spend the night, and to let us see his one of a kind creation, the Jelly Bean.

The following pictures were taken Tuesday morning just before he left out heading east for Atlanta before turning south toward Tampa.

Kitchen counter is almost done

Thursday, November 1st, 2007

Got the kitchen counter done today. Tile that I had to cut got ground down a bit for a better/cleaner fit. Used the belt sander to clean the edges and ends up. Worked fine. Another couple of days work and I think we are ready to go camping. ;)

Wiring hell

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

Been doing wiring and trying to finish up the kitchen. Still got bits of both to do but getting closer. Put in a bunch of outlets and still got at least 3 more to go. Got to take the couch/bed plywood off to get to where I can do them though. Should have waited till the end to put the frame in. Will know better next time. Bottom course of counter is done. Still got to skin the electrical but still got 12 volt stuff that goes in there too. And more smurf conduit to run to the tongue box which I have still got to build. And so on and so forth. On to the pix… ;)

This is going to be the camper that I base my next project on. Not gonna try to make a copy but rather use it as a basic guide. Nice design and well laid out.

Camper progress Oct 23 - 25, 2007

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

Got bits and pieces done. Spent quite a bit of time finding enough tile to do the kitchen counter and then figuring out the pattern.

Decided to start at the top in doing the kitchen so put the top kitchen shelf in first. Then put in the water jug enclosure and added bracing from the ceiling. Supports it fine.

Kitchen Plans for Patches

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

Got to the part that I have been dreading, the kitchen wall. Sat and thunk most of the day yesterday. With the rain it was hard to do much wood cutting so did what I could and spent the rest of the time trying out different bits in my head. The following rough drawing is what Cat and I came up with:

Last couple of days work on the camper

Friday, October 19th, 2007

Been working and not posting. Got all the top pieces in. Finally! Never again will I do one quite this way. But I have learned a LOT doing it. And a lot not to do again. Getting to the point of building the interior now. Should go faster than the ceiling went. Still got lots of molding to do but that can be done most any time. Slowly, slowly getting this elephant eaten… ;-)
